Reading the thread so far .. am lost for words.

Life is simple for few born with Golden spoons and silver cradles .. ermm.. even they have problems well.. of a different kind.

What makes us "US ". Our parents , society , culture , environment or our inbuilt potential ??? Is there ever a simple answer to the development of the complex human mind ?

NO !!! Cos as complex as we are , its multitude of factors which make us a responsible adult , social figure and human being. No single factor is the sole inflictor.

I agree children need to be nurtured with warmth to help them realise their true essence. Not all of them land up not achieving. But talking about the common people not exceptions , we need a happy family environment for a sound foundation in formative years. Thats when the primitive thought and reasoning processes are working their way so easy to damage than to heal.

Am a strong believer that a good childhood takes the adult a long way. Good in terms of loving nurturing with compassion and attention .

Frankly , no one would speak entirely where the shoe bites. As adults if we have a heart that really feels , its a victory over all that went wrong anywhere.

Hard to go thro , harder to forget .. times in life full of regret. But if you stil have the will to lend a shoulder or offer a hand .. IMO .. the battle is won already !!

Your whole tone is as if you're delighted to have succeeded in the manner you have, so why can't 'they' do the same.

Too simplistic, and ever so slightly smug.

You are doing what you are able to do...well done Ursilla...I'm genuinely pleased for you.

And as you are very much afraid of maintaining your circumstances, understandably to some degree in that you have children, you're going to do your level best to protect ehat is yours.

Fine.

But those two questions I posed you are simple to answer. You firstly support, then educate. Take them off the streets...give them an income...assess their mental and emotional states, then go from there.

Social responsibility Ursilla...plain and simple.

And let me just say this: if we, as a society STOP feeling compassion to those less able than ourselves, we have become blinkered and desensitized...without empathy.

We've forgotten our roots...and have entered into the realms of smug, self satisfaction.

We are basically perpetuating this whole sorry mess.
I agree

I have taken just this approach you mention, by ditching everything from my past and rampaging towards the future...though i have a few things where i have to recall the past after there done i will become an entirely person by next year, and hopefully the new phase will start very, very shortly.

Lifes what you make it, we are all creatures of out lifes experience, some have charmed lives, some have awful, some have theirs torn to pieces by events out of their control or influence.

I try to forget, but some things are not easy to forget.....but i am proud of some of the choices i made, and some haunt my every waking moment.

That said, every day above ground is a good one...theres always something good in each day.
Am glad we are friends !! hug

To some even good is evil , a joke is evil and cynicism is evil while to others bad is evil , mean and mortifying stuff is evil.

Depends on our perception .

Exactly what i was trying to say .

They see life with a simpler vision. They live by the rule sof nature and their own customs.

Its not abou isolation. Its about choice. You dont know what you are missing when you are not aware. But if you see and you dont want it yet its called choice. So, if they like to liv ethw eay they do..its their right to be the way they like . Enforcing Globalisation isnt what we need.

Yes as long as each are left to their own devices and one is not trying to turn the other into something they are not!!!!!!!

That's always been the problem...the dominant culture expects all other cultures to behave and believe as they do...Hence the strife!!!!!!

Also an honesty and accountability for past attrocities...stop the lies...stop the cover-ups and stop the justification!!!!!!!!

thumbs up Exactly what i was trying to say .
