Not that simple.

There's so much talent in the world which goes undeveloped.

I used to be a window cleaner...I could do it alone and suit myself as to when I worked...when I was able to get out and work to be more precise.

Met this chap at a hostel type place...he'd been to jail...lovely bloke. He commented on the talent he'd seen and witnessed while in jail..."but they're all just afraid Phil...they're just scared kids...damaged".

Some need a reasonable platform from which to achieve...stability which should be the right of any child...allowing them to develop.

While here are those who have the fortitude to overcome such hurdles...many don't.

And it just gets lost.
Something called " life " and " circumstances "

If only there were more people with priviliges willing to help another , there would be more fortunate people by virtue of someones realisation of humanity.

Not sure Aries was directly complimenting you Ray.

Boring little people sometimes offer real gems.....be patient and listen sometimes, you may be surprised.

Nobody has to prove their intelligence here by pontificating, giving IQ scores, job descriptions or academic qualifications, it's very clear by reading posts who has an ounce of worth.
I agree with Jan on not having to prove intelligence .

People are people not all of us can be alike . Hence the part about being easily understandable so that we benefit from each other by virtue of being an online community and as friends.

'I also find intelligence more attractive than anything else'

Why thank you.

I have found that superior intelligence insults even when it doesn’t intend to; while nothing is more acceptable to all whom it insults than a fool. So that, in a debate room for instance, a person with clear stand-out intelligence and the necessary studiousness and assertiveness to not so readily accept an assertion like everyone else and more so readily disagree, does so alone - and becomes by virtue of this an outcast who the majority will form a rabble against in order that by sheer numbers they may use their feeble brains to bring down that person’s superior intellect. Like a senseless rabble who shout nonsense to silence a clear and perfectly spoken orator.

And superior intellect keeps one resolutely single for one finds one’s own company and internal monologues more interesting than others – and furthermore one finds great interest in what others find to be an absolute bore, and so this is to the detriment of socializing and starting new relationships and makes things difficult.

One always has to dumb-down. Except a fool.
Ray .. i like your quest for the right answer and your determination .
Except for the part where u did personal insults , i think you add interesting posts and as you said you really work on them , its commendable. I do get to learn and think !

But maybe you should not take yourself too seriously sometimes. Just my opinion.

Its great to have you around.

hmm...

I wouldnt try to appeal. Either you like me the way i am or else .. good for both .. i am better off by myself.

Flirting ... Lot of ladies do flirt along for varying reasons. It may be healthy flirting or with someone you like or a form of humour. And there are some who stayout .

As for whats spewing these days .. I agree !! But its a personal choice so i would stay out or if i am in a situation explain and excuse myself or plain not reply. NOTHING against the man but just cos i dont want to please or pretend what i am not .

But my opinin would be .. NOT to pretend what you are not .... to appeal for anyone ever !! It does happen that sometimes people take you for granted , men and women alike .. but thats a part of being in a society and likewise in the CS community.

All of us are different but with the lunar showers of eye straining threads on CS .... like one yest .. men and women .. are tormented alike.
