Yeah!! Been at the receiving of some of that a little while back!! Also got told by the person that they were going to pray for the salvation of my soul!!!

They were going to pray for you? Omg you certainly found one there for you then, at least they didn't want you burned at the stake!!

People thinking nice thoughts or passing on kind wishes is one thing (i've been a recipient of this recently and it was quite touching) but strangers out of the blue wishing to pray for your obviously misguided soul is a little worrying to me!!

Where where they from (i think it must have been the Bible belt in the states by the sound of it)?

Who bloody wants too? I might have just been trying to find my car keys or house keys after dropping her home before she went for the industrial pickle jar on the bedside table.

Note to self, always make sure wear trousers with pocket space to never have to rely on letting another party carry stuff in a bad for you!!

People here don't want to discuss religion...they want to subjugate other's beliefs!![/ quote]

Also you probably already know that religion is a dogma whereas spirituality is a belief/faith that needs no framework (as Robbie said I think).

Religion and controle fit pretty good in the same sentence whereas you could never have spirituality and control in the same sentence ... IMHO

The worst part is if you are not responsive as in totally agree with them you either get attacked or vilified so its by far the best policy to tell them repectfully to go preach their bile (in some cases) somewhere else!

Life is way to short and for example if you want to feel like some of your lifes energy will be sapped from you just take a look at the "what is Islam" thread.

Just looking it will take waste moments in your life and you could have pondered the wonders of the universe, discovered an epiphany from a lost discovered crag in your mind, or had an awakening like an unfortunate waking from a coma.

Not on there though, you'll see all that's wrong with the world, blinkered, myopic behaviour that's a complete waste of time (much like reading the 48 Obama thread, after the same things have been said time and again and the views are so entrenched).

What gets me is why do people even waste their time replying to this same old twaddle when you just know they will repeat the same old cobblers time and time again!!

I ask you, don't you have anything better to do than type religious dogma or sing the praises of a politician on a dating website?

I'm killing time, what's your excuse for sitting there when you could be enjoying life in the real world without reading or bothering to debate something on those threads!!

Take a look if you havent already, it will depress the living piss out of you.

Eating picked eggs in bed and then wanting a kiss while their face is ful off egg might not be a good idea on a first date.

Women with green teeth and smelling of vinegar with no discernable gaps between their teeth is always a good reason to run quick.laugh

I agree with some of your points but I have to say that it is quite disinformed to use the term FUNDAMENTALIST fr buddhists. Buddhism does not pretend to be close, and it is not even a religion as many people think... and Buddha is not a god, it is not a prophet or any stuff liek that.
Full stop. AS for the MSN thing, I won`t defend those discussions -see my post above for explanations... and certainly I do not give a shit about talking endlessly about something that has only meaning when I put my life in front of a mirror- but your statement is quite realtive... with the same right others could say that other kind of stuff, for example yours -they find disgusting- should be discussed or fought about in the bloody MSN.

Clearly if you know anything about cultures you'll know the last people on the planet to force a belief on anyone else is a buddist.

So a fundamentalist Buddist is possibly rarer than a speckled hens tooth mounted in gold and being sold for $20k and sold on Rodeo Drive.

Personally i live by my own set or morals (Bushido) and i don't need a framework to tell me how to believe, what to believe or when to do so.

As for me being misinformed, well perhaps you should look up the terms Irony, pith, and joke in the dictionary.Clearly what i said was a joke, along with making a point that some of us are a little fed up with hearing the constant tirade or religious dogma being spewed out onto the forums.

At the minute i'm sadly spending way too much time sitting still just eating for energy and watching movies to pass the time and occupy the time.

Here's what i watched yesterday and the feelings each one brought out in me!!!

Romeo must die....i wanted to do a jet li and kick someones ass.
Silent Hill...i realised Sean Bean cant do accents and if in doubt just burn heretics.
Time Machine...Conclusion, i must never watch this movie again!!
Vanilla Sky....How the hell did i manage to even own this dvd?

Today i think i better go back to watching something entertaining that might make me try and move a little, though i should just sit still and wonder what to eat next.

So if i watch "300" today theres a chance i might want to chuck a broom handle at a neighbour when i put out the rubbish later.

If i watch say starship troopers theres a chance i will want to kill anything not human on the basis its a threat to my survival.

But either way i cant watch "the Ghosts of Mars" or "transporter" as the films are so wooden i dont want to risk breaking my new large flat panel telly.

Maybe i should watch "man on fire" /"hunted"/"black hawk down"/"hamburger hill" to remind myself i need to sell off some of my dvds as their making my brain rot. laugh

What i want to know is how the hell did i buy "The Gift/The Grudge"?

I have to agree.Surely things are not that bad that people have to resort to being religious maniacs to get attention!!

Hey date me i'm a fundamentalist Christian/Jew/Catholic/Protestant/Muslim/Buddist with a burning wish to ram my beliefs down someone elses throat with all the finesse of a sheet metal worker beating the crap out out of some aluminuim to make a new bumper for his pick up truck!!laugh

Sooner or later the penny will drop that some of us just dont want to know about whether is someone who's greatest purpose in life is convert others to their chosen religion!!

Some of us come in for a laugh, to socialise and some even come on the dating site with the hope of meeting people with the express hope of meeting someone!!

Let the religious ones debate on msn amongst each other, and if they want to fight let them do it there!!devil

I had the same thing happen pretty recently when my beasts caught an unfortunate bird in the back garden.

Here's what you do (as i was told from the RSPCA) and their phone service is automated to also include a message re young birds (injured and unharmed).

Basically, if the creature is injured or unable to be rescued by the adult birds its a case of ringing the RSPCA and holding for an operator who will then tell you a local vet who will be willing to care for the animal until it is able to be collected on behalf of the RSPCA and then they will release the animal in a suitable environment after the creature is well enough it be released.

The bird ginger or fuzz caught also had its tail feathers removed (which will grow back) but also had one leg broken!!

This bird was very lucky as it managed to evade Ginger for a second time, after he caught it from inside a box while i was waiting on the RSPCA to tell me a local vet!!

Hopefully this bird will be good and not revisit the garden and in turn tell all his or her friends not to crap on any motorcar i possess now or at any point in the future.

It's just amazing when someone gets annoyed and telecoms are one area why certain parties will do just about anything to ensure the correct contract gets awarded to the right people!!

There isn't much subsidisation of industry over here anymore, everything's been outsourced to China.[/ quote]The upside, there may not be many factory/industry type jobs, but I'll bet you're meeting Kyoto Accord goasl. Same here Robbie

What if the goal is not to occupy the country. But place your forces in a place where they can make contact, draw thier forces into the country,

Meet them with them overwhelming firepower, instead of people?

Attrition by giving them a higher rate of casualities than yours. In prolonged war. That forces thier organization to weaken individually and move them into negotiation positions?

Interesting concept yes?

Read a little bit about how General Grant ended the Civil War...he used attrition. He knew that the South could not replace those troops lost and equipment lost, as easily as he could. Just pounded them with attrition till they had to surrender.

In a sense terrorists and militant groups not having a full nation state relationship....are always the poor in equipment, funding, always near equipment attrition and .....as we are seeing more....have drawn forces into Iraq from the Hamas/Hexbollah/other groups. Weakening them in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon. Recent report out says that Hezbollah has been sending trainers into Iraq to work with AlSydar Midhi Army.

How are you feeling Robbie? Well I hope

I'm much better ( I think?) but its going to take a bit of time!!

How many of the threads did i miss while i was away?

Hearts and minds is the way to go, along with half a million armed men with proper equipment and a remit to disarm all factions and leave the only weapons in the hands of the police and armed forces!!

Train enough of the law enforcement and military to do their job properly and then you have a chance!! Anything else is just window dressing!

Religion is a very personal thing, and some people have used it for some centuries to cause conflict and misery and slaughter for countless people across the globe.

On this basis alone i have no time for it and don't believe it should be taught anywhere by the state anywhere, and shouldn't be given any place to pass laws.

Religion should be a private thing between between a person and their God, and shouldn't be used as a control mechanism for any single person on the globe in this day and age.

Religion should not be rammed down anyone's throat for any reason, whatever type it maybe.

It's all less valid than the instructions for programming a video player, but at least we can see that the video player actually exists.

If anyone want's to preach a religion or the benifits thereof may i respectfully turn your attention to your nearest religious gathering point where you may talk to the converted already.
