No problem - what I wrote wasn't very nice and I should have said it with a sincere smile or at least bared my teeth to show I meant no harm!

(damn - who hid my teeth? laugh ............ok, ok - false alarm; I've found my teeth now......the cat was playing with them! grin )

I will rephrase for your benefit............

I HAVE omitted to do any housework today.

Me too! crying

And Jesus said even thinking naughty thoughts was as bad as actually doing naughty thingies; so I guess at least thinking about doing housework gets you some brownie points - right?

Sommer - you know I'm jealous!

If I could change anything physically about myself it'd have to be my teeth (not that they are horrible, but I'd love to have a really sparkling smile)

Did somebody notice what a new and interesting pic Sommer has?

eheheh, bravo Sommer!

Another magazine cover?

I only checked it out in its full and glorious full size now - is it a dental advert?

I think it has, in German, 'get your chompers sparkling white at Herr Weiss your friendly local dentist' in the small print at the bottom right hand corner of the pic.........

What is Sommer doing now?

She is eating her last HALF of a former larger cheese triangle(half a cheese triangle can still be a triangle you know) while smoking three ciggies and drinking 5/6ths of a bottle of wine straight from the bottle so as not to spill any by pouring it into her huge bulbous glass!

drinking

You are going to extremes here to be social, rusty...

thanks......... I do my best!

I was trying (and obviously failing) to be funny, but it is true that people often answer a different question to what they have been asked - it is a fantastic skill if you are a politician - e.g.

'What do you think of the unemployment figures, Minister?'

'I think that the economic climate is very encouraging and more jobs are being created every day..........'

'Yes, Minister but what do you think about the rise in UNemployment figures'

'I am very pleased with this government's employment record - employment is higher now than at any time since the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was inhabited by a mere 362,923 flea-ridden savages who didn't understand the meaning of the term 'Democracy' '

'Yes, Minister - but what about the increase in unemployment'

'Please - you are beginning to irritate me. I have already answered your question, and we both know that the fact is that more people are in work now than when this government came to power.

You are merely quoting a statistic that is meaningless without taking seasonal variances into consideration........... since we are now going to host the next Olympic games employment is bound to increase even further.'

'Thank you, Minister'

No, I do not fill my glass, that would be shameful behaviour.

We are soulmates - I always bung any leftover wine plus my neighbour's untouched homemade wine, akin to a grand cru paint stripper, in the cooking pot............thumbs up

Okay

I will begin.

I have eaten 10, yes 10, cheese triangles, soft creamy cheese, 6 slices of ham, humus, 7 stuffed baby peppers... washed down with some Chablis.

Then I have shouted at a man, who was 19, IMMED me, ranted at him about reading profiles...

Had 7 cigarettes.

Then, I put my new shoes on, grabbed my coat, and the new handbag (purchased from Sommer) and danced to Dancing Queen in front of the mirror when in walked my landlady....

The shame of it.....

Only 7 ciggies - shame on you.....you could have at least smoked one per cheese triangle and glass of wine! grin

I'm ashamed for writing the above sentence - but at least I have answered the pigging question!

It is yes...

I try to convince myself that is my reason, but after 37 glasses, I have lost the ability to reason with myself.

37 glasses is six and one sixth bottles if you use a standard sized glass and a standard .75 litre bottle......hmmmm - firstly, I bet your glass is a larger than 'standard' wine glass (though, of course, you'd never be so infradig as to actually fill it); and, secondly:

What do you do with the 5/6ths of a bottle you haven't drunk?

Well, I was told that when wine arrived in Oz,
the Aussies wanting to be fashionable used
"blanc" (French for white wine) to order white wine,

I thought it was hilarious when someone in the
Sth Australian wine industry told me of the background.
It made sense to me

"blanc......blonc.......yah bleeding *hiccup* pommie bastard...blah, blah, blanc, blonk, ~chunder~ gimmee a schooner of reayal beeyah, can't stand this limey bloinking plonk stuff!"

(Aussies had no idea that we Brits hardly made any wine ourselves and actually mostly imported it from frogland) -

yup, your version has the ring of truth to it!

Hi everyone

For those who have met up with another CS member, I was just curious to find out your experiences .

What expectations did you have, if any? And when you did meet, how did it turn out?

I just thought it might be useful to share experiences, so that we can help each other in looking out for 'red lights', 'warning bells', questions to ask maybe before you meet, and so on.

I've met loads of people via CS - some became friends, and some became more than friends ............ your 'red lights' and 'warning bells' are the same as in any relationship apart from one thing - you meet a complete stranger in a bar and start up a conversation means you are starting from ground zero - but in this medium you get to know somebody first via correspondence and telephone and you should already know something about them before you meet for the first time...... that has to be an advantage unless you are a very poor judge of character and are easily fooled!

Are you saying we here have no culture?

Who knows?

The great thing about being one of a minority in any culture is that you can blame the majority if things don't go your own way........ but I've never seen gilly in any way play the racist card before, so I am as bemused as you are; maybe gilly has identity issues?

I certainly did as I was a white kid born in East Africa and felt I had less right to a British passport than a second or third generation Brit whose parents/grandparents hailed from Jamaica.

It doesn't bother me now - I am who I am and have no need to feel guilty about having had a very priviliged upbringing or having wasted innumerable opportunities in life.

I finally gave up feeling guilty, threw away all my false ambitions and then let life become so very, very good!

thumbs up grin
