you have called many people, me included ignorant!!Truth of the matter is, I agree with you about evolution, what I object to is your attitude and your smugness. What you say shows your haughtiness, not directly, though. That would be too common. You insist on talking down on people rather than talking to them. Again, a pompous ass. I would rathyer be ignorant , as you are fond of calling anyone who dis agrees with you...that a hateful, smug , intelligent fool!!

I hate being called ignorant myself.

Pompous ass sounds so much nicer!

Now when it comes to EVOLUTION I'm all for gay people.

Gay people should not be able to reproduce (although some cheat with a little adept artificial insemination or getting a surrogate mother - 'whatever').

We have too many people on this planet for me to be able to drive my car and pollute the atmoshhere without feeling guilty 'cos there is only one car per 100 miles of road and all that good shit. Too many people on this planet can afford cars - what's the pigging point of having a car that can do even 70 mph if you are stuck up some idiots arse in a traffic jam doing an average 0.003 mph for three pigging hours?

Gays are not/should not be able to reproduce - then the population doesn't go up if we have more and more gays therefore gays are a good thing in evolutionary terms.............. better a proportion of the population be gay and not reproducing than 'mother nature' hit us with the next version of global bubonic plague or we go into the 'lemmingland' of another suicidal world war 'to end all wars'.

How history repeats itself - bummer! grin

Just hope it wasn't me - I can be a pompous ass at times, but prefer not to be......... and if I came over that way I apologise.

First part - "mind over matter" verry interesting....

And the other saying is:

"When the going gets tough the tough get going"

but for me it's:

"When the going gets tough I run away!"

Cowards often live longer - brave and good men die so that cowards may live............... an interesting topic for debate, maybe?

If EVERYBODY refused to fight there'd be no wars - right?

But if only one in a million then decided to fight and killed most of us (because they just felt like it) and then raped our women and killed our kids and nobody said 'boo!' to them; any of us left would be slaves, right?

confused

Isn't there?

I thought they kept coming up with 'the missing link' then wondering what was missing between that and the one before!

gravity is proven...evolution has not been proven. Granted, it is easier to believe, but not proven. That is a fact! You pompous ass!!

Evolution not proved? Huh?

Sorry, do you mean that evolution is not proved or that the hypothesis that man descended from apes is not proven? I was not dismissing the the possibility that only man has a soul and is different from other life.

I'm quite happy to believe in evolution as it is already proved to exist, but if you are talking about there being a possibility that man is an exception to the rule I'm happy to accept that possibility exists(even if we share over 97% of the genes of a chimp we have never found the missing missing missing link).

To me it doesn't matter - because if there is a God, God would have created ALL life, and also created the ability for life to evolve - ok?

So, who is the 'pompous ass' directed to?

Evolution is definitely a proven scientific fact as one can see, for example, insects evolve - moths evolve into darker colours to blend into drab industrial landscapes, cockroaches and even rats evolve to become resistant to poisons - surely you can't honestly say you don't believe that evolution exists?

Mankind itself has evolved to adapt to different environments - otherwise we'd all be the same colour and shape, wouldn't we?

confused

People who disbelieve creationism are no more closed minded than those who disbelieve evolution. At our ages, our minds are pretty much made up

I don't believe what was said about mutations.......... mutations are not all weak and the ones that adapt better than non-mutations survive and we ourselves, in our own lifetimes, can see evolution happening around us all the time.

Believing in evolution does not conflict with the possibility of a universal creator, in my opinion, but when people make up an arguement that we can actually see is false.... then they do look a little foolish.

Politicians do the same thing. Tell a string of perfectly acceptable facts - then drop in a 'whopper' and hope people believe the whopper because the first statements were true facts.

It's like this:

'A' makes a correct statement that is universally accepted as being true.

'A' makes a second statement that is universally accepted as being true.

'A' then states an opinion as if it was a fact, but it is an opinion and not a fact and just an opinion dressed up as a fact.

Just because 'A' makes two universally accepted factual statements does mean that his/her opinions must be true!

Thanks, but it shouldn't be mere idealism.

Things should be simple - and if we lived within our means, and our governments lived within their means we probably wouldn't be in the global mess we're in now!
