Persian calendar is begun on 21 march.
Persian people begin their calendar along with reforms in nature and spring. The first day of year (Nowruz = New day) is the first day of spring.
Persian Months and their length:
1.Farvardin (31 days)
2.Ordibehesht (31 days)
3.Khordad (31 days)
4.Tir (31 days)
5.Mordad (31 days)
6.Shahrivar (31 days)
7. Mehr (30 days)
8. Aban (30 days)
9. Azar (30 days)
10. Dey (30 days)
11. Bahman (30 days)
12. Esfand (29-30 days)
In leap years Esfand will be 30 days and in common years it is 29 days.
Persian Seasons are:
1. Bahar (spring) = Farvardin, Ordibehesht & Khordad
2. Tabestan (Summer) = Tir, Mordad & Shahrivar
3. Paeiz or Khazan (Autmn) = Mehr, Aban & Azar
4. Zemestan (Winter0 = Dey, Bahman, Esfand.
We are in year 1388 based on Islamic calendar counting, but the basis of calendar is originally Persian.
