I missed this thread until now (or didn't bother reading it)

I'm glad I DIDN'T see it at the time Because I have one of the *biggest* mouths on this subject.

I'm trying to catch up reading the posts..

The *Gay* subject has certainly been an *Eye opener* for me into CS people's personalities.

I've learnt a lot about some people just reading what I have so far.

So in some ways this has been a great thread for *Getting to know* people.

I really, sincerely hope that every time you put "*" on either side of a word, you are doing the quotation mark symbol with your hands, that would be friggin' hilarious......

I am interviewing someone tomorrow to establish an IT department for the radio station I manage . Are there any IT specific questions I should ask that will indicate how well he knows his stuff?

You know, the insider stuff that separates the guy who 'likes' computers (which I have now) from the guy who can do a diagnostic and tell me why one of the station keeps turning off its automation at random intervals. (And if anyone knows the answer to that one you have a place to stay if you are ever in barbados! As far as i can tell we have not inadvertently triggered a live assist mode command).

I appreciate any input. Thank you.

Ask him about DHCP and DNS..... Ask him if he's CCNA certified (hopefully CCNP).

Then ask him what kind of networks he's most use to working with.... You know, the class, the topology, Static or Dynamic, etc.

Ask him what steps he would take to ensure a small to medium sized business building had a working and well functioning network with up-to-date computer software and hardware for all the stations if he was starting from scratch.
