We briefly discussed this, but I only knew about the upper West side, I didn't know you lived on the Island. We'll have to talk more about it at some point...We may know some of the same people
They are illusory for the most part, though I do remember a time when SI was still mostly woods. It's now become a mini Brooklyn...Hell even L'Amours moved from Brooklyn to Staten Island ::Yikes::

In reference to your question....Ummm I think all we have to do is look at the place we lived and how screwed up the people around us were...We were doomed from the start, we didn't have a chance
