My Wish for You in 2008

May peace break into your house and may thieves come to steal your debts.
May the pockets of your jeans become a magnet of $100 bills.
May love stick to your face like Vaseline and may laughter assault your lips! May your clothes smell of success like smoking tires and may happiness slap you across the face and may your tears be that of joy.
May the problems you had forget your home address!
In simple words ............

May 2008 be one the best years of your life!!!

being a volunteer does not preclude you of being a victim. I guess it all depends on the both intentions. Sometimes there is only one party who is in good faith...that makes the other party eventually a victim if...
Yes, we are responsible for our choices...but because we aint no fortune-tellers, we can be victims on our choices
One can volunteer with out playing in victimization. To be a "victim" is more than being hurt it's also a state of mind and attitude.

One can choose to volunteer and not be a victim.

One can choose to volunteer and Be a victim.

It depends on what your choice is.

The one thing that no one can take away from you is your freedom of how you choose to internalize the circumstances in your life. And there is ALWAYS a choice.

I have never actually been with someone that wanted to grow as a couple and to build a life with me. I have learned a lot in the last few years. I am still learning. To find someone that wanted to walk through life by my side would probably be quite wonderful. Would I be perfect? No. Should the woman be willing to take my hand and help me make a course correction? I can only imagine what it would be like to actually be with somone that was willing to talk things over and to work things out. Perhaps one day I will get to experience it.
There may be hope for us all. There are actually women that want the same too! And are willing to create a 100/100 relationship!

I lived with a dictator 15 years, been on my own for almost 2. I think I have become too stand- off- ish.
I have always wondered what it would be like to be with someone who actually enjoyed my company.
I can tell you that I am looking forward to finding out what it's like to be with a man that wants to be with me! LOL.... I can't say that I'm standoffish, however I sure can see the signs real quick. Like him answering his cell phone and walking away for a "private" conversation. Or having more than one cell phone with different #'s. Or finding his profile on so many different single sites when you are living together..... These are things that I will notice very quickly!

And what is up with people not giving their #'s out? Am I missing something here? Why would someone not give their # if you are really wanting to build a relationship? That seems so juvenile to me. I do understand that not everyone is who or what they say on here....however if you have chatted on line what is the harm in giving out your #? I guess I don't get that part.

I read this today:

"Be very careful if you make a woman cry, because God counts her tears. The woman came out of a man's rib. Not from his feet to be walked on. Not from his head to be superior, but from the side to be equal. Under the arm to be protected, and next to the heart to be loved."

It brought many thoughts to mind.

~~~Gentlemen:
In what ways do you try to show your heart to a woman?
How do you reassure her & reaffirm her value in your life?
When is it too much?
~~~Ladies:

What do you need to feel secure about your relationship?
How do you ask for what you need?
When is it a losing battle?

... your thoughts, please...
Your post has created some very deep feelings for me. Thank you. Coming out of a 6 year relationship where I had no security in it at all I have been giving this great thought.

I am not of the opinion that asking for what I want is being "needy" at all. Asking for what I want is giving the man in my life a gift, for he is not a mind reader. Setting boundary's in what is acceptable behavior is very important for me. Asking for, committing and displaying to open communication and honesty is top on my list of what I want for security within the relationship. This also includes not only listening, rather really hearing what the other person is saying. Even if I have to mirror back what I heard for clarification. Being up front and honest in the beginning is a must for this to work. And both parties have to participate equally. It is much harder to earn trust back after trust has been broken.

When is it a losing battle? I guess I need to learn that lesson. I waited much too long in the last relationship is why I have vowed to myself that I will be asking for what I want right up front.

It's a friggen FAD...a bad one at that....

Ever see an older woman, say over 45 with a friggen tattoo on her breast or leg ?? It looks nasty and trashy...

What looks 'good' at 18 starts to look foolish and inappropriate at 40 and beyond....

that's not 'dreaming' either, that's REAL LIFE
You certainly have a very strong opinion for someone who has a false profile on this site. There are some of us out here that are very honest, over 45 and have a tattoo that looks good and are looking to really meet a real person. That's real life my dear.
As to what looks foolish is a player that is pretending.
I am a real woman, that has 1 tattoo and it looks good too! In my opinion if a man has 1 or 2 small tattoo's placed in appropriate places then it's ok. As for my own personal tastes, I don't care for them all over or to be seen in a professional environment. I am of the opinion that the way you dress and what body art is shown says a lot of who you are and your attitude toward life and other people. In other words folks, the way you present yourself to the world speaks volumes!
I'm new to this site and new to the forums. Hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas!
