I was in Austria, working at a fair selling tickets for one of the fairground rides. It was a sunny Sunday morning, when we gathered in front of the Caravan of the lady-boss, wanting to pick up our basket with chips and change for the day.

Sitting at a table on the veranda of another Caravan I overheard the male workers talking about Diana and death… I don’t know what gave me the impression that I felt it was a bad joke. Anyway I went in to collect the basket and the lady-boss said:
“Did you hear about Diana?” I said: What? The bad joke I heard outside? She: No, it’s no joke, she was run over last night!
I thought “run over” ??? Like in crossing the street?
She then elaborated on Paris and tunnel and in shock and disbelieve I left to get to my cashiers booth.
On the way there, I, as it was to noisy outside having to yell in, slipped into another cashier booths window, and told my girlfriend who stared at me wide-eyed. I had to repeat several times, that is was the truth.

All day I questioned people buying tickets as to what they felt, thought about her death. Sometimes they couldn’t understand me, so I grabbed their hand, pulled them down and close to the window, so I could ask again. Probably my way of coping, or trying to establish it was really true.

It didn’t matter who I asked, young or old – every single one was moved and mourned her loss.

Wow, I think an English class is in order for some members... the spelling is awful! Also, for future reference, slamming people carries a lot more weight if there aren't blatant spelling errors.

sad;y , the site has become worldwide. The forum is full of bickering , snide comments all around. No one is interested in dating , because , frankly, who the hell is gonna fly to Afghanistan fofr a lousy coffee meeting!? Do they even drink coffee in Afghanistan , for cying out loud? This site blows? That is an interesting expression,never heard that here in Canada...but we do use the expression "Blows dead bears" here in Canada...is that more or less the same idea? And by the way,shouldn't you be out on a ledge somewhere?
