I've really been astounded with the sheer selfishness of people lately. I recently witnessed an older woman trying to cross the street. She had the right of way as well as the walk signal, but there was a man in his car waiting to make a turn and she was in his way. Rather than waiting until she had walked past his car, he decided to get as close to her as he could before pulling to a screeching halt, shouting at her the entire time. It really made me sad. If we can't even take three or four extra seconds from our lives and possibly miss a green light or two, it really makes me wonder what's in store for us in the future as a species.

Hmm, I guess I have something of a different perspective on this as I've been planning for years to move overseas eventually. So for me, starting something online with someone in the UK wouldn't necessarily be long-distance for too long. Of course, it all depends on the two people involved. I think long distance can work as long as the relationship is moving toward eventually NOT being long-distance. I think that as long as both parties are open and honest with each other, it can work quite well. Distance is an obstacle, but it's definitely not the only one a new couple faces.
