threads warning of scammers should be PINNED, not locked. there are some VERY gullible people around. particularly people who long for a relationship. the scammer i encountered sent me VERY long e-mails telling me all about herself. they were obviously written well beforehand and just copied, pasted to get my interest. to be honest, i never even really read them since i caught on pretty much immediately that she/he was a scammer. after the first couple of long e-mails i then started getting shorter, more personal ones which had been typed to me (as opposed to the standard pre-written ones i'd received earlier). i just wondered how long it was going to take for her to ask me for money. in fact, it was after the 4th e-mail. she said she wanted to talk to me on the phone and had no credit. asked me for $120 so she could top up lol. i told her i'd phone her (knowing well what the reply would be) and she said her phone doesn't receive incoming calls. eventually, i received her WESTERN UNION (they all tend to use WU) details. i decided to wind her up a little and asked her if she'd come to the uk - and that if she found out the price of tickets i'd send her the money for that too. unfortunately, on my way to the bank i was hit by a car and had to go to the hospital so my accountant (drew peacock) mailed her on my behalf. after a few exchanges drew told her i'd fallen for the nurse with big boobs who was looking after me. needless to say, the e-mails ended there rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

chances are you've deleted corrupt files which have attached themselves to dll. files needed in order to play the videos.

try downloading real player for free and set it as your default

http://uk.real.com/player/more

this will play most video files. if it's dvd movies you're trying to watch then there are loads of free dvd players to be found. personally i use avs dvd player.

http://www.avsmedia.com/DVDPlayer/

that should sort you out but if it doesn't then feel free to mail me wink

i'd have thought that someone coming on here telling everyone they'd just come out of a 10 year marriage would be a POSITIVE if looking for a long term relationship. surely this would give the impression that he wasn't afraid of committment and was pretty reliable? i don't think i'd mind that on my cv at all so god knows why he'd lie about it - never mind FORGET about it confused

couldn't agree more. in the uk we have the grand national. 40 horses, 30 fences - to be completed TWICE over a 4 mile distance. this REALLY pushes horses to their limits. the chair..........a relatively easy 6 ft ( used to be 8 ft i think) jump but little do the horses know that there's a huge ditch at the other side. every year we used to hear of horses dying or having to be put down during and after the race. bookies would lay odds on the amount of horses which would actually FINISH the race. i remember one year when there was only about 6 horses managed to finish. the big question is.......WHY??? what gives peple the right to treat animals in this way? even after jumping all those fences the horses have to endure being flogged half to death to get a bit more out of them towards the finishing line. sure, they've made the course safer in recent years but anything that distance with that many fences is a gruelling affair for any horse. as for racing drivers, yes they make their own decisions - but would they still be so keen to drive if they had someone whipping them half to death while they're racing? dunno

just watched that link you put up ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G18NfN76bAs ). must say that for him to be faking that and give such accurate details is pretty astounding. particularly the 2nd lady and the elevator stuff - and the fact he was right about her dad passing when she was young. maybe he is a medium and doesn't even realise it. i once read about a medium (think it was doris stokes) who admitted she used to fake it - until one day she saw a real spirit who gave her a rollicking for fooling the audience. apparently she apologised to the audience there and then and went on to be a world renowned medium. fact is, there's so much we don't understand and perhaps never will. telekenesis, mind reading, even the powers of the pendulum (which i dabbled in for a while and was often quite surprised by the results- although, i think a lot of the results were brought on by my subconscious). i have a real strong urge to go see this medium though because i'm often overwhelmed by the feeling that my father is around and i'm CONVINCED he's trying to contact me. thing is, i'm bloody TERRIFIED of that kinda stuff lol.

Mediums, spiritualists, psychics, they're all fake. Derren Brown I think it is? That amazing psychologist.... he proved them wrong. If they're specific enough, you can give many people the exact same reading and they will all think it's extremely accurate. Look it up on Youtube... this one is about mediums: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G18NfN76bAs

Here's one about psychics:

He has a whole bunch of videos like that. Guy's amazing. Check it out.

sorry but i can't accept that. here's one example:

my ex went to see one shortly after we split up last year.among other things the medium said there was a male spirit with her - which she described as MY father! he told her how sorry he was that things never worked out and that she was to get on with her life. she told him we had a son (who was born after my father died) who had a connection with my father - my son's middle name was the same as my fathers. she told of a relative in the STATES who'd recently passed away (her aunt died in ny a few months previous) and said the woman was asking about my ex's brother (who she NAMED and had been close to when he was young). she also NAMED her father and came pretty close to naming her mother - which was quite surreal since her mum's name is NOMITA. not a name ANY fake medium could pluck out of the air - particularly in this neck of the woods. conclusion.........she'd have to be one HELLUVA clever fake!!!!

if nothing exists beyond death then we have a whole shitload of spiritualists, mediums etc who are all FAKE! personally, i've never been to see one but i've had people close to me who have and have been pretty impressed/shocked by the accuracy of the readings they've had. never been quite sure what to believe but i'm convinced our souls carry on. whether into another life form or another dimension. i guess we'll all find out one day though rolling eyes
