I beg to differ...Second hands kills...its our right to complain, whether smokers like it or not...

I smoked b4 and i know it was bad and killing others when they breathe the smoke in...

Why do smokers always attack the non-smokers with their opinions???

Double Standard....

you're right there are double standards - on the non smokers part. on one hand they complain about small amounts of smoke exhaled by smokers but they think it's ok to drive big cars and pollute the atmosphere with fumes far more dangerous than cigarette smoke. you stop driving and i'll stop smoking. deal?

is it just me who thinks non smokers are always quick to point the finger at those who do smoke? surely exhaust smoke and fumes are far more harmful than the odd whiff of someone elses ciggy but it's ok for the non smoker to jump in their 4x4 (no, i'm not suggesting every non smoker has a 4x4) and spew their toxins into the atmosphere. am i alone in thinking the smoker gets a pretty raw deal?

we have a queen therefore we ARE subjects. as for the government, i don't believe we're afraid per se but they have the power to do what they want - and they DO WHATEVER THEY WANT! it's the same the world over. maggie thatcher laid the foundations when she came to power 30 years ago and today the uk is very much a police/nanny state whether we like it or not.

yes, we all know where the problem lies but we can't fight the government. even if we did somehow manage to persuade them to reduce the fuel tax, they'd just slap the deficit on to cigarettes, alcohol, road tax (which cost over £300 per year if u drive a 4x4) or simply close down yet another school, post office or hospital.

So, what is the UK doing about this fuel problem?

at the moment nobody seems to be doing very much. there are a handful of people (including myself) who have boycotted BP stations and hope that we can persuade enough people in the uk to join in and make BP feel the pinch. if this happens then BP would either HAVE to drop their prices or lobby the government to reduce the fuel tax (which is around 75%). a price war at the pumps is inevitable in the not so distant future. perhaps recession isn't that far away either. house prices have already began to fall for the first time in many years and it's predicted they'll again fall by as much as 10% by the end of the year. the country's going nuts sigh

What you pay for the pumps is not that much more than what we pay....

Shopping for the basics for 1 person ( milk, bread, eggs, bum wipe, etc) is well over $40 a week for us.

For heating, My gas bill to keep my 900 square feet aprtment heated to 62 degrees fahrenheit cost me around $100 dollars a amonth during the winter. AND THAT IS REASONABLE!
If your under the impression that things are cheap here in the U.S., they are not.

And cost of living wage increases??? forget about it.......

i think you musta misread. you guys pay what for fuel? $3.50 per GALLON (approx)? we're paying almost the same for 1 LITRE - which would amount to well over $10 per gallon. Also, i said that basic shopping bills has RISEN by $40 per week. to keep a 900 sq ft apartment at 62 deg over here would cost WELL over $100 per month - which will soon also soon be increased by another 40%.

seriously, you guys think you're bad but you ain't seen NOTHING YET! in th euk we pay an average £1.23 ($2.40 approx) per LITRE for fuel at the pumps. the average shopping bill has risen by around £20 ($40) per week, household gas incresed by 18% & electricity by 12% a few months back - now we're being told gas is likely to increase by FORTY PERCENT come the winter.meanwhile, the government has asked employers to minimise any wage increases, suggesting that perhaps 2.5%-3% wage increases would suffice!!very mad

according to research, stocking sales have dropped by over 50% in the last 3 years and the reason for this apparently is that men just don't find them sexy anymore. well, i personally love a woman in long black stockings. In fact, i don't know ANY man who doesn't like to see a woman wearing them - except of course when he's watching her take them off..... (but we won't go down that road right now ;) ). What i can't understand is why people seem to think men don't find them sexy anymore? ANYONE??? confused

i don't get why people are so nervous on first dates. i think they're actually pretty easy. be yourself, make a point of having fun with or without him (since you'll have made the effort anyway) and relax. if you don't hit it off then you haven't really lost anything since you never had it in the first place. now SECOND dates......they're stressful rolling on the floor laughing

if someone is chasing you with a weapon (e.g. GUN) which at some point they drop, don't even consider running away. PICK THE BLOODY THING UP AND USE IT ON THEM!!!!!! D'oh!
