don't be afraid. you'll still be working off your normal drive and you'll be using windows to format a slave drive. nothing can happen to the one you're using. even if you chose the wrong drive to format (which i doubt) then you couldn't possibly format the one from which you're working lol. you'll still have full use of your pc while you're formatting your new drive

oops, forgot to tell you to choose TOOLS after properties from the drop down. then you'll see the backup option

sure. if u want to backup the whole drive then follow the procedure for formatting. once it's formatted, double click my computer, right click the drive you want to backup, choose properties from teh drop down then choose the backup option. this will give you an option to backup your entire drive. advise to do a full virus scan before u backup though.

plug in your drive. right click my computer then choose management. click disk management and you'll see a list of devices. right click your new drive and choose format. full format is usually best. then you'll be able to drag files accross to store them
