Maybe it was your son-in-law? Innappropriate, but not so completely wrong...

Why would you bother to lie? Life is already complicated...who needs more drama or bs? Keep things as simple as you can. I don't need more details in my life to keep straight.

Unlucky -- school bus drivers -- what a horrifying job!

Lucky -- trophy wife of a pro baseball player. You marry a guy in great shape, makes a fortune and is gone 9 months of the year, what could be better?

Married men are safe to flirt with...easy practice. Flirting and f___ing are two different things though, so if your wife's friend had more serious intentions, that was something else entirely.

Irish,
I thought we started with the question of would would someone EVER cheat. My contention is you never know what you would do.

I don't believe that every person who cheats is automatically evil. I believe that a strong relationship can overcome adultery, but not many can.

We can never predict what circumstances our lives will bring us. I have learned not to say Never.

By the way, I didn't mean to seem negative towards the boys -- the fact that they're so different from us is what is so attractive.

It has been my experience that many men don't like to talk about work after work....

Sorry, I like dogs too...I forgot.

Irishlass, we all know that men speak a different language than we do! When they talk at all....
That's what makes them so damn fun!

Well I am certainly not an expert in relationships or in monogamy for that matter. But I do believe that once you start ticking off rules and regulations to someone, it's a good way to watch them hit the road. Commitment is in the heart, not in words or lengthy promises. Once you believe that you own someone, he is an easy target for the "thems" of the world. So my advice to anyone who believes that monogamy is sacred is to treat your partner as if you were his mistress, because that my friends, is the surest way to keep him.

One of them? Like us vs. them? I'm not looking for an argument, just offering a different perspective. Marriage might not be the only way to happily ever after. In a perfect world, two people join together in a partnership and trust each other to be faithful. Unfortunately, we don't live in a perfect world. We all have to balance the knowledge that life is short against our own value systems....so to each their own. We don't have to agree on what the rules are.

So much judgement....never is a long time. The reality is no one knows what they will NEVER do.

quote=diogenes]I joined in 1947, when it was a newsletter with names and adresses for pen pals. Most people didn't have color photographs to mail to all of their pen pals, so they just drew stick figure pictures of themselves. We didn't have fancy cyber or phone sex. We mostly just used our imaginations and some petroleum jelly.[/quote]

I'm sure that was back when men were men and computers were computers! I'm not sure though about the difference between then and now as far as the imagination and petroleum jelly goes...

Thanks...the forums are certainly fun. I'm just not sure about this on-line dating thing.

South Dakota, don't put the horse to pasture just yet. There's nothing wrong with 50+. Those men certainly do know a lot about women.

This is day one...and now I'm a little afraid. Does this replace going out and meeting "real" people?
