I hope you got it working by using Adblock not adblock plus .
Its good that its working in the end and you didnt mind my suggestions

Re-installing doesnt fix everything but its amazing how many people
are afraid to reinstall an operating system .

Its like ohh no I am going to lose all my data .
Well you WONT lose the data if you setup the PC right in the first place
and use partitions and drives .

Its a shame that when Windows installs it doesnt setup multiple partitions
for the user . eg C Drive 5 gig (OS) , D Drive (Documents and data)
P Drive (10 gig Programs) , G drive (games 40 gig ) , then the rest left
over as a another partition to put what ever on .
Then again its microsoft , cant expect good things to happen.

Ohh BTW real geeks/nerds use Nlited (not default) Windows 2000/2003 or Linux not Default XP/Vista

Re-install Windows Tips
=================

* BACK UP ALL DATA (media/install files/drivers/emails/settings/etc)
* Make sure you have the Windows Reinstall disc and your serial handy
* Re-installing Windows with Nlited Windows disc without IE/WMP/OE
instead of a Microsoft insecure bloated factory default Windows
http://www.nliteos.com/guide/

A lot of Computer users store games , programs , data and the OS on ONE
PARTITION this is very bad when it comes to reinstalling Windows
I suggest creating Multiple partitions this way if Windows gets dammaged you wipe
the WINDOWS Partition , re-install and NO DATA IS TOUCHED/LOST
Do this with PQmagic , Partition Resizer (freeware) ,
Windows built in partition manager or
GParted/GNU Parted/QTParted (which are on SystemRescueCD)
http://www.zeleps.com/
http://www.sysresccd.org/
http://gparted.sourceforge.net/livecd.php
http://www.gnu.org/software/parted/index.shtml

First partition - C Drive letter - Windows with 5 to 8 gig
set aside for it
Second Partition - x Drive letter - Programs in Portable
and setup editions -2 to 20 gig depending on how many programs
you use Third Partition -
rest of the data - Personal Documents , Downloaded
freeware/opensource programs , games installed , downloaded drivers,

its a good idea to do a clean reinstall and NOT get re infected
again (Dont use MSN Messager/Live Messager, toolbars, WMP/OE/IE)

If you havent reinstalled in a long time it does clean out the junk
that builds up with Windows .

If you were using IE/WMP/OE chances are you would probly have some
other crap infecting the pc .

Backup all the data and reinstall Windows

I really hate these poeple that say , just go and get a apple

Windows is just one of many operating systems on the intel hardware platform and Apple could of made their os publicly available to run on
intel hardware years ago but refused to and is greedy and wanted people to
buy over priced apple hardware instead .

Windows once you configure it and not run the default insecure ms apps
is fine . Linux on Apple and Intel hardware is gaining ground aswell
This year (2008) will probly be the turning point for a lot of people
to stop using XP/Vista with IE/WMP/OE/MSN and start using Linux
or nlited Windows and using Firefox/MPC/Thunderbird/amsn

Buying an apple that cost 4 times the price of intel hardware is not the
answer. Apple users are very close minded and think because of their
small user base it will protect them from virus and infection programs
for ever.

Firefox is great free multiplatform (Windows/Linux and Mac)
broswer that is better in my view then IE/Opera/safari

Noscript addon:

Adblock addon:

Codec & Media Playback on Windows

http://www.free-codecs.com/download/Media_Player_Classic.htm

Un-install any AIO codec packs
Un-install Divx 5 and Divx Player

Install XviD Codec (Nics XviD build also supports DivX 5 playback)

Good to hear more people ditching IE/Opera and going to Firefox

Adblock and noscript are great additions to firefox
Personaly firefox doesnt alive until you use the above two addons
it is what makes it so worthwhile to use .

From my experince spy bot is utter rubbish and not worth using .

Anti Spyware & Anti Virus's Tips:
=================================

Most spyware and virus's come into Windows Thou :

* IE - cookies , popups , ads , scripts (So use Firefox )
* WMP- html and wmp exploits (So use Media player classic)
* Outlook Express/Office Outlook via HTML encoded emails
(So use Thunderbird) or webmail in firefox
* Windows - a program lanched or when explorer views the folder as HTML/Webview or some type of windows exploit

The best way to get rid of infections is to format your Windows
partition and reinstall Windows with a custom nlited Windows
instead of Default insecure Windows install.

Then once you are reinstalled and clean dont use
IE , WMP and Outlook Express/Office Outlook
which is the main entry points for infection .
Use Firefox , Media Player Classic and Thunderbird email program
instead .

If you want an commercial Anti Virus program then I recommend:

Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition (works on 2000/XP/2003)
http://www.symantec.com/enterprise/products/overview.jsp?pcid=1322&pvid=805_1
Which can install on a server to download the updates , then deploy them to the
clients on the network and maintain serial/licenses for the clients.

or
Kaspersky Anti-Virus (get server edition for 2003) (workstation for 2000/XP)
http://www.kaspersky.com/kav6
http://www.kaspersky.com/kaspersky_anti-virus_file_server

I wouldnt recommend any software firewalls , you are better off using a
Hardware Router Device or a Linux Router Distro (m0n0,Smoothwall,clarkconenct)

Free Anti Programs:
( These work with Windows 2000 , XP and 2003)

* Adware Se personal - freeware (not the 2007 free one)
http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/
* Spydefense - freeware
http://www.everestlabs.com/antipsyware-overview/
* Hijackthis - freeware
http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php
* Clamwin anti virus - opensource
http://www.clamwin.com/

Anti programs I dont recommend on Windows 2000/2003/XP/Vista:
Norton Range of Software - Get the Symantec editions instead
AVG - Its crap in my view dont bother with it
AVAST - Its crap in my view dont bother with it
Trend, ZoneAlarm or any AIO protection suite

Network worms:

Network worms will come into a unpatched computer if you are direct connected to the net ALWAYS use a Hardware Router or Linux Router Distro to access the internet NEVER use a USB Modem to access the internet .
Most of the ADSL modems these days are a router and its inbuilt protection is enough

Windows XP SP2 does not by default have the Sober worm patch, grab it here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899588

Also run XPY over the Windows install to make it more secure and faster.

XPY:

XPY is a free opensource program that speeds and secures
Windows 2000 PRO (32bit) , Windows 2003 (32bit) and Windows XP Home/Pro (32bit)
Choose all settings then de tick:
Disable Media Sensing for TCP , you want that left on
Delete Most recent history , you want that left on
Disable Recent shares in Network , you want that left on
Disable Showing last user . you want that left on

PLEASE NOTE- THIS BBQ IS CANCELED FOR LACK OF DATE THAT FITS FOR EVERYONE... LET'S TRY AGAIN LATER
dance

What do people think of a BBQ meet in Brisbane in the future ?
With enough time some QLD might be able to travel to Brisbane
to meet some people .

I know of Southbank has some free public BBQS and the pool is nearby
and Train and bus are close for Public transport .

Everyone could bring one item that could help the bbq and everyone
would share the bought items .

Maybe post this on some other dating websites and invite some
single males/females that arnt part of websites but would like
to meet some single people ?

Everyone could have a name bag and the website they use .

Good idea ? What do people think of this ?

I think meeting somewere like the city or Southbank , taking
a walk thou the gardens in town or thou Southbank , having a
pinic lunch in a nice spot . Maybe going for a swim.
Going to see a movie , then taking a boat ride along the river
to come back to the city and have a nice dinner at a nice place.
Then walk along the river walkway chatting in the moonlight.

I could see a lot of arseholes and jerks could use dating sites
as a new way to increase the tally of one night stands .

Ive had a few gfs in the past and one friend with benfits that ended
up being a gf . Unfortanly from my exp that girl wanted the benfits
of bf/gf and she became real wierd stalker that didnt know what No
was . Anyway moving onto the topic .

Maybe people should list what they want in the profile or the
website be updated to support this .
This way females and males that do want a no releationship bonk
can find others that want that aswell.

I would like to find some female friends that I can socialise with
that I have some common interests and also I would like to find
some nice girls to date and hopefully find a nice girl I can develop
a great longterm relationship with . If I find a fun girl to have
a bit of casual bedroom fun that would be great , horny single
guys need a bit of ecchiness from time to time but I wouldnt
activly look for that kind of girl all the time.
