Do you still need help with buying new RAM for your Computer ?
This thread seems full with blonde insults .
Depending on your current PC hardware , will be
if its cheap just to upgrade the RAM with another stick
or if its going to be cheaper buying a new
cpu , new motherboard and new ram . (Since old ram is costly)
Can you please download a free program called SIW
http://www.gtopala.com/download/siw.exe
Once you have downloaded SIW , you want to run
the program.
Then goto the 'hardware' section on the left hand side
Then goto the 'Motherboard' section
Can you please post down the Manufacturer , model ,
CPU socket and CPU information
Then goto the 'memory' section and post the details
how many memory slots , memory type , memory speed
Now if its a system using DDR1 RAM (DDR266/DDR333/DDR400)
then you could get some new stick of DDR1-400 speed ram
but its going to be expensive , might be a better choice
to get a new CPU/RAM (DDR2-667)/Motherboard.
Just checked Umart.net.au (Local PC store in Brisbane & GC)
they list 1 gig of DDR1-400 for $75 new
Where for $50 you can get 2 gig of DDR2-667 RAM.
So looking at that if you can afford 70 to 90 bucks
and if it is older system that uses DDR1 ram that could
get you out of trouble , its up to you and how much dollars
you have to spend on the computer
