Be it luckily or unluckily, I've never fallen for someone without first getting to know them pretty well, so I don't see where the risk is.

I am in this boat too, considering I only fall for my friends, I have never had the love at first sight thing happen to me.

In response to:
There's risk in everything, including walking your doggie across the street. I don't mind taking chances if I think the outcome is worth the effort.

But you will not know if it is worth the effort if you do not take the risk in the first place. That is why it is called a risk!

Yes, I am willing to take risks, you have too or you are not living but just existing.

We all seem to have stopped talking and having fun. I seem to be spending more time away from the site now and I have to say Im missing all the banter.

I have to agree with this. It definitely is not as fun anymore. I have always enjoyed conversation and words more than just sitting and watching.

I had a lot more fun when it was the old way.

That is something I would never do...

But then again, I generally pay if I am taking someone out, unless they want to tell me beforehand that it is their treat, and then I might even debate that.

But I guess that I am a little old fashioned that way.

I feel the most for my mom. She has been his caregiver up until the last 6 months. Toughest job I have ever seen. Now he is in a nursing home, and she is having a rough time of it, because they used to talk about everything, but now she has to make all the decisions herself and does not like it.

I have become her rock, as you are becoming your friend's.

Funny thing is when dad is coherent, all he does is talk about how great she is! So I know it will still be some time yet before he forgets about her.
