LOL, as a former reporter for CPS, I can tell you they would have probably taken the kid on the spot for something like that. Go ahead and try it though, if you really dare.

That I found funny as well. My mom wasn’t so much of a whimp that she ever had to wait for daddy to get home LOL, and neither am I. Sorry for all of you out there that did have such weak mothers. Maybe them not being able to control you was the reason your parents had to resort to violence, there was a lack of intelligence and backbone some where.
And I dare any one of you who advocate spanking as being in ANY way necessary at ANY time, to meet either of my kids. They are all the proof I need that you can raise good, honest, caring, responsible, respectful, decent people without raising a hand to them. I would also be willing to bet that mine have been in less trouble than those who have parents that spank (hard to beat a record of NO TROUBLE with any teacher, daycare provider, coach, sensei…EVER). So bring it barbarians LOL I’m ready for ya’. Always say the best reference on a person’s parenting is their kids.
sexysweet gave you a more realistic view of those violent fathers, and that they AREN’T RESPECTED. But no, I do not consider myself a liberal. The only party I would ever commit to would be the one of common sense, and that doesn’t seem to exist yet.

If you have kids spouting obscenities, somebody has already seriously screwed up somewhere, so it doesn’t look like very good methods were being used in her examples.

It is illegal to hit kids in the US as well. They call it ASSAULTING A MINOR and it carries very stiff penalties. And no, just because it is your own kid, you are not protected by parental status from being charged.

My mother did. I have it, and so does my daughter. Ticks me off when people go for the drugs. We just call it a “focus issue”, and I have taught my daughter how to calm herself and focus. But then my mother was a teacher, and had a lot of education and experience with children, more so than the average person.

You took that opposite to what I meant. I know of very good fathers, some even single parents. Thought it funny that men would be excluded from being proper parents like that.
I do respect your opinion, and yes i read every word of what you said! but don't CRITIZE me on what my opinion is! because you know what look how i have turned out. i got spankings i didn't get beatings...... it hurt my pride more than anything to know that i have disappointed my parents. and you know what i learned alot in life by them! and i wouldn't take that back for the world cause you know i know that they had every bit of good intentions when they raised me and my sister. As a matter of fact when i do have Kids i will let you know ya wanna baby sit for me? as for having a weak mother i think i was glad cause that way i knew BOTH of my parents were involved in my raising. so before you go and critize everyone take a walk in there shoes and sit back and think about there opinions and instead of just rattling off what you think things should be! cause you know what we might not like what everyone says but i know i atleast sit back and read them and understand that is there opinion and everyone has a right to it!
