Damianowen: Where did I say he shouldn't be punished or that he deserves any form of sympathy? Personally I think that 20 years or so on a labour gang would be a start at rehabilitating him. If he was mentally ill then he should serve time in an institution where he can be treated but either way, the sentence needs to be sufficently long enough so as to not offend the victim.

angelmarz: i get where your coming from....i have forgiven him, i don't HATE him anymore, the hatred i had for him was not healthy...i HAD to find a way to move on, forgiving him was a something i never thought i would ever achieve at 21, i achieved that at the age of 28, i'm not saying people can easily forgive, NO WAY, I'm not saying it's possible, coz it's very FRICKEN HARD...eventually i realised, he's not in my life anymore!!! he can't hurt me anymore....that's what got me through...i used that as an affirmation...needless to say...although i've forgiven...he hasn't been in my life for 15yrs...he is someone from my past i could never ever go back too....

angelmarz: I think...when it all come's down to it in reality...more parent's could be educated on how to raise their child in a positive manner...i'm stating this now....i didn't want to bring this up, BUT ...my father, was a monster....i'll give you ONE example of mental illness....he used to tie my legs with his leather belt to the legs of a bed...beat the shit out of me and my brother, naked...i had to cover myself with clothes on a HOT SUMMER'S DAY when i went to school from these welts, my 'so called father' inflicted on me...i have come a long way since then...i was instilled with alot of pain and torture as a kid, leaving me confused, fearful, lost and full of self hatred for myself....15yrs of therapy has done me the world of good...i am the total opposite to how i was raised....BUT...i am still working on things to this very day...
