I too am experiencing an ugly divorce and feel overwhelmed by her controlling, domination, same story as our marriage. I accept the facts that we can;t live together and look forward to the day when I can laugh at her manipulations. I only want to be the best father I can be to my 3yr old.

My question is "What can I expect during the next year of lawyers, court, and emotional, home and financial seperations?" I released the lawyer only interested in our finances, and the new lady lawyer is definitely ready to fight for my fatherly rights. We do agree on joint custody, but the 24x7 care and control is the real power. All I want is as much time with my son as possible.

What traps should I look out for?

I end up reading Lesbian profiles,,, Did I change or has CS changed?
I am not judging, anyone, just wondering what is different. Me or they way I view potential friends?

I have seldom read anything on CS that pisses me off as much as your words.

" And then I must say that I don't believe in divorce, I think that if you make vows in a church or wherever you decide to do it, it is a holy and sacred thing, if you are divorced then you are a liar. Because you reneged on your "contract". "

Well miss pookie, I did not believe in divorce either. That's why I waited until I was 40 to marry. Man I am pissed at your words. May heaven help you that you never suffer what you lay on others feet.

HOW CAN THE MODERATORS (who are in charge???) ALLOW THAT INSULT TO BE UN-EDITED???? Your rules state "Keep the threads positive. If you don't like what someone is saying in a thread, stay out of the thread."

Take your honesty and apply it liberally where you use Charmin. YOU oibviously want to hurt someone and you are succesful. Wake up moderators!

Wish one, to live with my son.
Wish two, real wealth to help others, (I'm not talking rich), I'm talking wealth)
Wish three, a lady who is willing to come improve my world or simply ask and communicate that my move into her world is better.

Excuse me, but you waited exactly 14 minutes before determining this was a bad idea. Bird dropping in the punch bowl is the least offensive comment I've heard. Yes, conventions have been done on far worse ideas, beleive me I live on a resort island, and the groups I see gathering for business issues are vile. As is indicated by their love for MONEY!

I suggest "buy new pillowcases". But dude, I can relate. Everytime I had a breakup with, well actually the one true love of my life, we broke up at least 5 times, I could only get by it, by listening to Richard Pryor's breakup sketch. Humort always help for a limited time. But it does help.

Such attitude! Are you saying you don't find some of what you read on CS amusing? And wanted to answer? Right.

Sometimes,,, I read statements on the CS profiles or "About Me" or "About My Mate" that just screams for a response. Come on, Yes, it is our lives, and I need to lighten up and laugh about my own woes and desires as much as anybody. Some of these "About my Mate" descriptions are truely funny.

I may be totally off, (I'm sure somebody will rip me) ,,,
but has anybody out there, ever, written a "Flower" or email statement just to get a response,, or not,, or to "get blocked"? I can't check who has blocked me, but any response is better than none.

I read about CS posters who wonder why nobody responds to their site,,, and I feel for them. I try to keep everybody involved. I hope no one sees this as aggrevation, that's not my intention. I am respodning to everybody, like "wave" nor toying with people! "I'm just trying to keep things lively."

Has anyone written, just to get a response, and what was it?

When my son is here, my fav time of day is when he wakes me at 6AM and says, "Daddy let's go!" Other wise my fav time of day is quitting time at work. Sundays are my fav day on Cayman.

Boyhowdy,
Do I feel you brother. I am divorcing (gladly after 5 yrs of emotional and psych abuse), full of remorse for my own failures and not seeing her deeper father/hate and control issues.

But I'll be damned if I am leaving my 3yr old son behind to suffer her warped worldview and not see true love. I live close as I can to him, seeing my baby son only 2 afternoons and a weekend until the divorce can barter real time. My baby boy has latched on to the "Moody Blues" CD and now repeatedly requests "I Know Your Out There Somewhere" to play every moment we are in the SUV.

Oh yeah, every woman (with kids) says "your doing the right thing by your kid, wish more fathers did", but then they're too busy to pursue a relationship,,, "and well, good luck". Guess I am "too" fresh meat. Time will tell,,, But how long do I keep this drudge life and not be happy for me?

I do want more kids to love, ( Yes I started late). So I am interested in someone still young enough to want babies. But I need love too. What to do?
So far I am just keeping close to my son and starting my life's rebuild. Any suggestions?

No , not in my case. I never wandered and kept my vows. Anothe earth changing event wrecked my already floundering marriage, Hurricane Ivan. What happened to the poor folk in Louisiana , happend to the rich and poor in the Cayman Islands a year earlier. Yes, I believe the Inet may weaken our personal communication skills and some may use the Inet for weakening their relationships. But I never ventured out until I was served papers for a divorce.
I married late in life and will stick to my relationship with my son regardless of my oh-soon-to-be ex's wishes. (Do I sound bitter?) I think the Inet has given me the opp to hear other's stories and perhaps feel better about myself. No I am not single yet, nor ready to jump back into a full fledge relationship. But I am encouraged by some of the ladies communications to me and the men's stories help too. Just my 2 ¢.

Yeah,Rainbowslider, I know what you mean,,, "I love self-help groups. I hope everyone gets to experience the love of them." < Been there and still attending when I can,,, Have you seen "Fight CLub"? It's side story is full of support groups & humorous views,,, Just thought I'ld chip in and agree.

As to ex's No., Mine are vastly different. Perhaps two were co-dependent in different ways,,, bad father figures,,, but as far as physical characteristics, they all have long dark hair,,, at least when I met them....
Still love each of them..

In response to:
i talk for a living, being a hairdresser ,and i was rasied to always make eye contact so people know you are paying attention so i get told i'm a flirt because of it . it's mormal , good manners. i'm not always being a flirt. but because of that i have a hard time telling when i'm being hit on.
If a man stares at your eyes, he's interested. If he stares more than 4 seconds at your t_ts , then you are being hit on.
