When my twins where little I would buy those mini pita's and cut them in half. Then the kids helped me make different fillings, such as chicken salad, edd salad, tuna salad... and once in awhile just salad with what ever dressing they wanted.
Because they made the filling themselves and filled the mini pita's they always ate more than I thought they would.

In response to:
Put up a peg board for tools and actually use it just for the love of God...no pink tools.
One thing that can be fun and useful if u like refinishing furniture,is to find an old sideboard (buffet) do it over and use it as storage.
If the tools can't be pink how about the big standing tool box??

Thank you everyone for the words of support.

I know that I am doing the right thing and with time it will get easier. I know where he is and can see him from my kitchen window when he is outside. I have told him that he is more than welcome to come over for visits.. he is still my son.

He is still working since he has to pay the people that he is staying with and still going to school. His plans for graduating are still the same so that is a positive thing at least.

Thanks again everyone hug

For a few months now I have been having issues with me 17 year old son. Now I now that the teen years are hard and confusing but yet at the same time respect for the parents is a must for a single parent. Rules are set forth so that the home runs smoothly.

So what do you do when respect is not given and rules are not followed. When the teenager wants to spread his wings and will do pretty much anything to make sure they get it. From mental abuse of saying that you are a bad parent, calling you a bitch/asshole to even telling you to f*&% off.

Well with the advice of many parents that have been in this situation I did the only thing that made sense. I sat him down and told him that he can have his freedom but at a price. If you have a job then you can come and go as you please and I will treat you as a tenant. You will pay rent for your room as well as other costs.. with in reason of course. Don't want to take all his cheque away.

Then the fun started crying , he desided to get his sister involved in the conversation which I put a stop to. But in the process she blurted out that he was doing drugs. Now he has been hanging around those that do so I knew that he is either going to be strong and refuse or he will join in. The deal with him when he left his fathers home was that in my home there is no drugs... if you do then you are out.

Today he came and packed up his clothing in a large green spots bag. It was so hard to stand there and talk to him about how I hope that one day he will realize how much his mother loved him and was only trying to teach him what he needs to learn before he actually gets out on his own. Tears rolling down both our cheeks and voices cracking as we said our I love you's.. a hug that didn't last nearly long enough. All the pain and joys of the last 17 years came flooding back and all I wanted to do was tell him to stay. But I can't do that. Tough love means that sometimes we have to do the hardest thing in the world.

Today my 17 year old son who at times has a heart of gold.... moved out.

I pray with all I have in me that I made the right choice.

Did date someone for a couple of months. Things where going great then he got scared. The reason he got scared??? He was MARRIED and not DIVORCED like he had said.

Really started to make a person wonder who is being honest and who isn't. Hard to tell even face to face now adays. sigh

Due to the fact that Cupidkiller has unfortunately removed himself from the ethnic night dinner I will have to assume that he will not be here for the Ivory Club as well.

So the Ivory Club is now Cancelled.

A salesman was traveling through the country side, selling insect
repellent.

He came to a farmhouse and tried his pitch on the farmer.

"Sir, my bug spray is so good you will never be bitten again. I
guarantee it."

The farmer was dubious. "Young man, I'll make you a proposition.
I'll tie you out in my cornfield buck naked, covered with that bug
spray.
If there is not a single bite on you come morning, I'll buy a whole
case from you. And get everyone in the county to buy a case; we'll make you rich.

The salesman was delighted. They went to the field and he stripped.
The farmer sprayed him thoroughly with the bug spray and tied him to a
stake. Back to the house went the farmer.

The next morning, the farmer and his family trooped out to the
cornfield. Sure enough, the salesman was there, hanging in his bonds, not a single bite on him. Yet he was a total wreck! Pale, ghastly, haggard and drawn, but not one bite on him.

The farmer was perplexed. "Son," he said, "Now, you don't have a bite
on you but you look like hell! What the devil happened?"

The salesman looked up through bloodshot eyes and croaked,
"Doesn't that calf have a mother?

Here in Edmonton we have "Heritage Days". It is a weekend of different cultures in the city.. they all get together and put up thier own tents. You can watch each of them do thier special dances for thier culture and taste thier ethnic dishes.

This year I have my kids and they like to go and see thier "Oma and Opa" dance.

Have not been there in years and am looking forward to it. cheering

It seems that we are not permitted to have two signup events for the same day. So with Kelly's permission this is being posted in this signup.

We all know that each time we go to the Ivory Club a good time is had by all. So as per request from Cupidkiller we will be going back to this high energy place again to celebrate his birthday. So sign up and join on the celebration.

Things are going to be a little different at the Ivory Club in August. According to the owner he has hired 7 more musicians one of which is another female. Good for those songs that are sung by females that the guys try to do so well and we all have a good laugh over LOL

As for the other changes there, well the cover charge is going to be $10.00 but you will be given a free drink ticket with your entry.

Where: The Ivory Club
Address: 2940 Calgary Trail
Date: August 25,2007
Time: 9:00pm
