I've seen the mosque - saw it about a year ago when it was completed. Beautiful piece of architecture. I took some awesome pix of it.

If you are worried about Muslims taking over ATL though, I seriously doubt that will happen. With all the brain dead rednecks and gangs in and around Atlanta, I don't see it as a problem. Besides - unless I'm mistaken, don't we have FREEDOM of religion here? And no, I'm not Muslim.

Again we are faced with yet another disaster as it came calling at exactly 2 am,catching alot asleep.Deaths are reported ,and your prayers are needed, not to mention if you are close by to Evansville,Indiana or Henderson county in Kentucky.State of emergencies have been declared, after a tornado bearing the lenght of 20 miles long devastated these parts not to mention left death in its wake.

I grew up in Oklahoma - right square in the middle of tornado alley - so I feel for you and those who lost homes/property/lives this morning. It's barely February, yet we get a freak storm, made even worse by coming thru in the early morning hours. My parents' subdivision has been hit by two in the last 11 years. The first time their house was spared, the second time they were not so lucky. They had minor damage - the house was still livable - but several others in the neighborhood lost it all. I know of five houses that were so damaged they had to be taken down to the foundations and re-built from the ground up. I was living in Texas at the time and was supposed to have gone up for a visit that weekend, too. It's something you have to deal with living where the jet stream and gulf streams meet.

I am sorry for the loss of lives and property. I wish there was something I could do to ease the pain.

To Eupho: sweetie - there's no need to toss me a chill pill. Come live in the American South. You'll see. Read the next line.

Indyfella - I'm not holding back shit. I hate living in the heart of the South, hearing this crap daily. If it were not for my job, I never would have moved to Georgia.

Daddyslilangel - just because we elect a President who is other than white does not mean that ignorance and racism will stop. Grow up, sweetheart. GWB has done a great job. You think his opponents would have done better??? I would have loved to see Colin Powell run our country, without some moron trying to kill him because he's 'other than Caucasian'.

I'm just venting my frustrations. I'm voting for Rudy or Fred come the next election. My opinions are just that. MINE. If you don't like them, that is fine with me. I won't force them upon you. Nor do I care what yours are. Politics and religion are two topics that I HATE discussing in public, because they are both OPINIONS. This rattled me enough to respond, so I did, being that it was from a known shit stirrer, who does not even live in the States. You have my opinion. Take it or leave it. I'm cool either way.

Is America racist? As a whole I'd guess no. I live in Atlanta GA and I hear racist remarks all the time. I moved here three years ago from Texas ( lived there for 14 years ) and rarely heard a racist remark, against blacks anyway. I grew up in Oklahoma - being that it's mostly white there, racism was almost unheard of. Would I vote for Obama? Not in a million years. Because he's darker skinned than I am? Nope. I don't like his politics. Had Colin Powell ran for Prez, he would have had my vote. I'm ex Army and Air Force, plus I come from a military family so I may be partial, but I felt he was a great leader. That being said - I know you ( gillyloves69 ) are from across the pond, and you are probably well aware of the amount of racism here in the states. Why try to start shit? You REALLY want my two cents worth? I'm pretty sure MY family didn't have slaves. Coming from Texas - there is a HUGE Hispanic population there. For the most part, they keep to themselves. They are hard working, family oriented, SUPPORT their communities, and generally don't stir the pot. I am well aware that there are bad apples in EVERY ethnic group, but, here in the southern states it seems that most of the A/A people ( most of which where BORN in the US ) just want a hand out. Whitey owes me. My baggy pants are my expression. Looking 'gangsta' is kewl. I'll spend $4,000 on 30" tires and rims for my 1980 Monte Carlo ( that's worth less than $900 ) to look cool. I'll also invest $2000 in a thumpin' stereo so the whole farkin' town hears me comin', wile my P.O.S. car sounds like it's vibrating apart. And when things don't go their way - they play the RACE card. I'm black, whitey's picking on me. Fuck that. I have black friends - one was even born in Nigeria. They all WORK. They aren't looking for a hand out, for WIC, food stamps, etc. Again, there's bad apples in every ethnic group, but damn it, I'm so fukkin' sick of the 'race' issue. Grow the fuk up. Man up. Own up to your responsibilities. Support your children. Raise them to respect people as PEOPLE, not because of their color. There....are you happy for stirring the racism pot?

I'll do you one better - I work for a major airline here in the states. We get eight buddy passes a year. Tell you what - give me eight A/A's here in the states that think life here is just so damn bad ( because of whitey ). I'll give them a ticket back to the motherland. They can spend one month in the bush, chasing down dinner every day, fighting rival tribes, finding potable water, trying to keep a roof over their head, trying to stay free of disease. Come back at the end of said month, and I DARE them to explain to me how bad they have it here in the good old U.S. of A.

There. I'm pissed off. You happy now?

I think forwarding our messages would be fantastic!!! I missed the original post, but thank them for me too! No matter which country they are from, they are all heroes. I ride with the Patriot Guard here in America ( www.patriotguard.org ) We try to be there when they deploy and when they return. We also attend the funerals of the fallen heroes, at the families' request. Also, if anyone is interested, point your browser to http://lbeh.org/ ( acronym for Let's Bring 'Em Home ). The fellow that runs the site is ex US Air Force, and takes the money raised to purchase airline tickets for these heroes to come home for the holidays. Anyone who has been in, or knows someone in the service, knows that they don't make a whole lot of money. You can donate money or frequent flier miles to help bring these amazing people home to see their families. Ernie has been doing this for six years now - last year he helped raise over $70,000. All the pertinent information is available on the web site.

In response to:
We have learn't.............many politicians haven't........we pay good money for all the oil we buy from the arabs...........good money......no one is stealing it.................as has often been said in the past......let the politicians battle it out
But it's not the politicians who battle it out in the end. It's our troops. I can't say I'm 'for' the Iraq war, but I DAMN SURE support our troops who are there in the sandbox. They volunteered to serve our country. Unfortunately they are fighting the 'politicians' war. I'll be the first to admit - I drive a gas guzzler. My second mode of transportation is a motorcycle. I didn't buy the bike to drive it to work, but due to high fuel prices ( and I KNOW they are cheaper here than in Europe and the rest of the world ) now I do, weather permitting. Will I ever give up my gas guzzling pickup truck? Nope. That's my cross to bear, I ain't bitching. But back to the post topic - READ THE BOOK I mentioned earlier. You say the Quran teaches one thing, peace, love, happiness, granola, etc...this book will set you straight. It's a great read. It opened my eyes.

In response to:
My solution.....take the idiots responsable for the mess and let them fight it out face to face.
Those 'idiots' - and I agree with you, they are idiots - have been fighting amongst themselves for thousands of years. And they will continue to long after we are gone. This is my whole problem with religion. I was raised Episcopalian. Went to church every damn Sunday (for 18 years) unless I was ill. Religions are almost like high school - my group is better than your group, and if you don't think like me and my group you are a loser. Look at the Catholics and the Protestants in Ireland. What Hitler did to the Jews. The Crusades. When it's all boiled down - either you are with us/them or against us/them. The book I mentioned earlier explains a lot about the Islamic terrorist mindset. Either you are with them or against them and therefore must die. Believe in what you want to believe in, just don't force it upon me and we'll get along just fine.

Maybe you all should read "Islam and Terrorism" by Dr Mark Gabriel. Google the book. It's very interesting AND will shed some light on the true teachings of Islam. Give it a read - it's well worth it. I'll even give a link to amazon dot com for it

judging from your pix, I can't say I have any cons about you, without seeing you in person at least. I think you are pretty, sexy even. everyone has their preference, what we like and don't like. you're only 18 - stop worrying about why your ex cheated on you. I'd say it's his loss. if I were young again, I'd LOVE to date you. seriously, don't worry your pretty little head about him. you have your whole life ahead of you. he's one guy - ONE. you will find someone who likes you for who you are, who won't cheat, who will spend every waking hour thinking about YOU and YOU alone. don't worry hun, you will find a man who cares about you and only you!!
