Laura25: Vinny!

I don't know 'why' -- it could be a compliment or ... ...um *they* might be trying to comfort...

But seriously, I've never heard people talking about size and money nearly as much in RL.

Hiya Laura.......Hope your well.

Its easier on here I suppose to voice one's fears or prejudices.

On a serious note I have lived in England for 6 months now and have encountered so many people who have this typical idea of what Irish people are like, and not in a good way, it gets frustrating.

Anyways always my pleasure

Hi Laura......hug

Hope your well.........

Anyways how about Tiger Woods or David Beckham. We live in a society that rewards excellence in sports and their names I suspect would be more well known throughtout the world than a lot on your list.

lookin4ubabe: Once again, I will be the minority here. Whether he deserved it or not isn't up to us. He met the criteria for the committee and that is good enough for me. I think changing the climate in international relations and fighting to rid the world of nuclear weapons is a huge accomplishment and instead of bashing at every point possible, we could actually applaud his efforts and recognize it as not only an accomplishment for him, but for America as well. Bush sullied our reputation so bad, that it is nice to finally be recognized for peace making efforts.

Very well said.

If I was American I would be proud that my President was recognized in this way.

Nohe has not accomplished what he has set out to do, but he is trying and I applaud that.

vinny1967: Most players who leave or have been allowed to leave have not flourished elsewhere, which says a lot about Mr Wenger's intelligence and Management.

Gallas is very popular in the dressing room and while he is not Captain material does exert a lot of good influence on the younger players........So I'm led to believe by people very close to Arsenal.
It seemd to be a straightforward choice between him and Toure as they argued and fought a lot, which was unsettling for the other players and Wenger had to make a choice I think.

Adebayor Nutted Bendtner one the pitch.......!!!!!!

Well rid and I think he will find a lot more raffles to throw wherever he goes in the future.

Rattles......doh

DUBLINGUY1973: I have to agree with you here though. Adebayor does look like a troublemaker especially considering his goal celebration and foul on Van Persie when City played Arsenal. Toure - i haven't heard anything about him.

Viera's career seems to have gone backwards since he left Arsenal. He went to Juventus and when they were relegated for match-fixing, he was off to Inter. A couple of good seasons later, he can't even get into the team now. Petit and Overmars didn't exactly set the world on fire when they left for Barcelona and Upson is playing well but who did he go to after Arsenal? Birmingham and now he's at West Ham. No disrespect to either club but they are hardly in the same class as Arsenal.

Although the rest would probably never admit they made a mistake leaving Arsenal, I think Henry is the only one really who could have no regrets.....JMO

God created us......doh .....what a silly question.

God , who is all seeing........Viewing all the pain and hurt inflicted upon us from his great height.

God who is all benevolence and wants us all free of abuse and suffering.

God who is all powerful and can stop so much of it......if he chooses.........

but he obviously wants children to be abused....cause he doesnt stop it

he obviously wants famine- cause he does nothing to stop it.

He obviously wants people to suffer......well you get the gist.

Believe in a character that has the ability to do all this and chooses not to.

No thanks

jonathan_heart: Lets not forget Flamini and Hleb. But most importantly for me, he never replaced Vieira. No steel in the midfield..

Well I was only naming a few that he let go in response to your comment about him not letting so many go before now...but you have made my point for me.

He let 3/4 of our midfield go before and still came back and won the title.

I reckon he knows more than we do.

Either way this season is make or break for him as regards his policy of not buying big having faith in youth. If he doesn't win anything he will run out of time as the patience of the board and the fans will wear thin.

jonathan_heart: True, but he never used to let so many of his good players leave..

Gallas and Toure did not get on........they hated each other.

Toures performances for the last couple of seasons were not to his normal standard for Arsenal.

Wenger made a decision and I think a right one.

Adebayor did not want to be there.........It showed in his performances last season.........no reason to keep a player who wants to leave..........he is also a troublemaker..........well rid I say.

Viera, Upson, Henry, Overmars, Petit..........All were allowed to leave........Possibly Upson and Henry have gone to better things........its arguable...........Arsenal went on without them.

Apparently the camraderie on the dressing room is far better with Toure and Adebayor gone.

This is Wengers 3rd team..........He has done it twice before.........No reason he cant again.

DUBLINGUY1973: Hiya Vinny, how goes it, mate?

Well in fairness, i'd be seriously worried if they did any worse....

I still think we will challenge for the title.........a lot of young players are now a year older and we need some of them to step up to the plate with leadership qualities and some character.
That I think is what Wenger is relyin on I think.
Either way I think your right as this season will decide Wengers future as supporters are getting restless.

We could have won against both Manchesters and already have played 3 of the top 6 away from home.
Arshavin , Walcott and Rosicky are all coming back and if people actually looke at the top 4/5/6 second 11, I think ours is the best, certainly comparible with Chelsea or Man U as the others dont even feature.
Liverpool rely too much on 2/3/4 players whereas the others have much better strength in depth.

Anyways things are really good here and am going to start going to the Exeter City's home matches.....the stadium is 5 mins from me.

Hows life with you ?

cheers

Partiro: Hiya DG Crouch is very limited in what he can do, hes a mediocre player at holding up the ball and he has a good header but unfortunately his strike rate with headers is lower than 8% which isnt top 4 material and when we play him, we as a team revert to playing the long ball which doesnt work against the top 4 teams

jonathan_heart: Dublin guy mentioned that Spurs dont spend the money to break into the top 4. I think the same can be said about Arsenal in the last few seasons. I don't think they'll make the top 4 this year, and to be honest i dont think Wenger is the same manager he used to be

Hiya.

He never spent money when he won the Premiership 3 times either.

In Arsene we Trust.

I personally think we will have a better season than last season.
