There are mixed race people on the forums, too.

I was talking about an 8 year old child. I'm guessing that adults have heard all of this before, and as I said, I'm only voicing my opinion and nothing else..I am entitled to that just as you and everyone else is entitled to their opinions. I am not trying to be mean or hateful as some others have been. Why am I being persecuted for having an opinion? If those people don't like it, I'm sorry, but it won't change the way I feel about it.
In some countries, people are murdered for marrying outside their race or sect. Not too long ago, there were 16 states here in the US where it was illegal to intermarry, and people were put in jail for it. There are still a few of those states around. In the state of Louisiana, if you have only a very small percent of black blood, you had to be listed as black on your birth certificate even if you were a blue eyed natural blond..and racial prejudice is rampant in that state.
the times are changing but they are not changing fast enough. I don't care if someone is black, white, red, pink, or purple polka dotted, we are all human beings. I was only saying that your heritage is the most important thing and I feel like it should be preserved. I don't give a rats ass if they don't want to preserve it.

Besides, this thread was about someone having brain cancer.

I have mixed race cousins who grew up in Kenya and the UK. They never faced that at home, haven't heard them complain about England, but i wouldn't know as we don't talk that often.

I would however recommend, that you don't talk of how wrong it is to mix races, in the presence of your grandchild, however good your intentions are. You wouldn't want her to think she was a mistake, now would you?

I have never, or would I ever say anything to her or in front of her about my own personal opinion about mixing the races. I just made a comment, I do not get on a soap box and preach against it.

I am not the monster you apparently think I am, and if I offended anyone in this forum, I apologize.

Quite ironic, coming from a person who compares human races to species of birds and thinking it wrong to mix them.
Yeah, i remember your profound christianity.

I still hope someone you love, falls in love with a person from a different race and gives you hundreds of grandchildren.

That has already happened and I love this child with all my heart, but I still think the races should stay pure. I am not condeming, just voicing my oinion. As I stated before, I am a decendant of a black slave.

Maybe where you live it is accepted, but I have seen the cruelty of other children against my grandchild because she is of mixed race. I have seen the hurt in her eyes when she asks me why they are mean to her. When she tells me someone called her the "n" word it tears my heart out. I wouldn't wish that kind of thing on anyone no matter what their heritage is.

Sounds more like vanity. Either way, wouldn't be interested in someone like that.

Yes, but wouldn't you say someone would have to be vain to be high maintenance? If she weren't so concerned about her appearance, she wouldn't be spending the money to keep herself up. At least her husband must not mind her spending it because he gives it to her to spend. Or maybe he thinks she looks so bad that she needs all the up keep?

What is your definition of a high maintenance woman?

I have a friend that is very high maintenence.....She goes to the hairdresser 3 tmes a week, gets a manicure and pedicure every 2 weeks. Spends loads of money on her make up and practically lives at the cosmetic counter getting make overs, and only purchases the latest and most popular make up. She needs to purchase a new outfit at least every week, and gets a new car every two years. That is high maintenence in my book.

So, from now until you reach the age of 65, what do you do for healthcare?

Most people around here use the emergency rooms, which cause a very long wait to be seen. I have watched a large number of people come into the ER with colds and flu because they don't have a doctor or insurance. The hospitals can't turn them away so they have to treat them for free. Sure, the hospitals send out bills to these patients but if they don't have jobs or an income, the hospitals have to either pass the costs along to paying patents in the form of higher fees or write it off.

Do we not all make foolish mistakes? For all the Christians on CS, remember the basis for our faith. Jesus taught forgiveness. I would not wish brain cancer on anyone, no matter who they are, we are all on this earth as brothers and sisters. Yes, let he that is without sin cast the first stone...INDEED. Thank you Joanie and Portiea. I agree whole heartedly. My prayers are with the Senator and the Kennedy family. May God bless them.

Maybe I’m a little short sighted but I like to think it’s not a black, white issue. I think what cost Obama votes was the religious ties he was claimed to be attached to, whether they are true or not, I think that was a large issue.

You are right, I think it is the religion thing also, but somewhere in the equation, the black white evil head rises.

Uh? American isn't ready for a Black President? You are kidding! Do you know how many past President and prominent white men has had a trickle or two of black heritage in them......how many had a black cook in the kitchen, cooking some collards green and pigs feet? Do you know how many had been breast fed as babies, by black wet nurses? It's the best thing that ever happen to America......Ready, set Go Obama!

UH yessssss, I am fully aware of that fact, I wasn't refering to the trickle of black blood in most of us...I have black blood in my veins from a great great great grandmother, yet you would never know it from looking at my skin. and my father had a black wetnurse. I am only pointing out the simple truth that there are too many back woods rednecks out there who don't think like normal people. I don't want to see the things that Might happen in America if Obama becomes President.

You have made a interesting point here. Why DID Florida set up early if they knew it would invalidate the votes? Surely someone knew this! So I am inlcined to agree with you. This sure does bring back bad memories of what happened to Al Gore. This election year has been interesting for sure. I also think the media is pushing Obama and I get the distinct impression that they are against Hillary. Also, there are still racist out there who do not want Obama as President and I have a terrible feeling that if he is the nominee or even elected President, some hot headed racist will take matters into their own hands and either attempt assasination or actually carry it out. Remember Bobby Kennedy? We have come a long way since the civil rights riots of the 50's and 60's but not nearly far enough. I only pray that we are not destined for another civil rights war. I just don't think the United States is ready for a black man to be President. I don't consider myself a Democrat or Republican, I vote for the person I think will do the best job and I can't say that about Obama because I don't think he can do it. We don't know how he is planning to make these changes he is always talking about. I have read and commented in a lot of these Obama threads and some of them are getting a little hostile and mean spirited, so it scares me a little to think about what is coming.
