My mother is in the hospital, again. My Step-father runs his ass off, takes care of my mother, ran a farm, sold it for bucks and he's building a business, with a smaller farm.

I asked him about his alternatives. He told me it was better than being alone. I asked him about walking out the door and keeping part of his life. He said he'd rather not be alone and he likes being the good guy. He said, "I'm that guy."

I want a guy, like my step-dad. I want to be like him. He does the right thing, because it makes him happy. I want that guy.

I'm not that girl, but I could be. I might be bitchy tonight, but I'll be kind tomorrow, to my mother.

I'm sick of hospitals, sick of being in them and the mention makes me a grumpy bitch. I have alternate personalities, and feelings, about them.

Anyone else have to deal with hospitals on a regular basis? Do you have a chronic illness, yourself? If you have a chronic illness, how do you stay sane, when dealing with a parent, or a child? My mother is a pain.

Sometimes, I just want to walk out the door and leave.

Yes I get sick of them too but for different reasons...work is tough..

Karen may I suggest you go to blogs and read some of Bajanblues posts...how she copes is beautiful..I admire that lady..hug

Okay, hypothetically, if Obama wins the democratic nomination, and, hypothetically, wins the presidential election, is it possible for race to become a non-issue and that he will be judged on his performance alone? That is, will he ever be just the president, or will he always be the black president?

Looking for thoughtful, considered, fair, and reasonable replies--Thanks

As much as we would all like to say colour and religion is not noticed of course it is!!!

A woman covicted ten years ago of a horrendous crime in which she helped her husband rape, torture and strangle while filming a ten year old school girl...
She is now on life support...
Should tax payers be resposible to keep her alive..
Is she entitled to the health system as much as the next person?

True, interpretation and perception is everything. I just see a connection with Islam's view of the four Archangels who guard the throne of Allah. To me, this Islamic concept is synonymous with angels and spirit guides. Just the way I see and perceive it. That is all..

wine Yes perceptions are varied and all valid..

Sufism is of course is percieved as outside the sphere of islam by some...it is the inner, mystical, or psycho-spiritual dimension of Islam.... simply the name for the inner or esoteric dimension of Islam.
I am a dervish...known as devil by some..

Personally, I think the term protective angel and spirit guide are synonymous (sorry Christians-Muslims-new age spiritualists).
It is just a matter of terminology and interpretation among different spiritualities/religions/mythologies. The fundamental concept is the same; that of protecting people.
I also do not rule out "Tricksters", spirits that lead us astray or give us false signs.
I believe that my spirit guide helps me in my everyday life. It is up to me to recognize the signs that the spirit guide leaves for me. As long as I ask or wish for, a trail of signs is left for me to decode. Could be something I see or hear anywhere outside or inside of my home.

I feel that the best signs I get are in my dreams. It is just a matter of decoding the symbols and messages if it is expressed in symbol form. Much like how many indigenous cultures use dreams to guide their everyday lives. The hard part is remembering those dreams...ha ha

Yes, I do believe that I get warnings in my everyday life or in dreams. The most powerful warning signs come to me in dreams. And to be honest, it has helped me in a lot of situations or when I am at a crossroads.

Again, I really consider the signs and align it with what I want and I where I want to go in life. I align it with my own spiritual energy and my own personal desires and destiny. Like I said, I do observe these signs very carefully. I am very aware of the trickster archetype. Damn trickster keeps fuckin with me at times...ha ha

As far as my spirit guide/protective angel being a certain gender, I have not seen it. I can just feel the entity within my source, that is my source that is connected with the universal divine source.

Muslims do not believe in spirit guides as such..all actions are from God alone..
But they do believe in 'tricksters'...just as a matter of interest or not..they are known as jinns..they are believed to steal information from the heavens and whisper false ideas into people open to suggestions such as mediums etc...
Muslims believe they cannot be trusted and lead people astray..They come in the shape of just a dark formation but it is more about the energy that they emit...I guess entity would be the best description..There are certain prayers in the Quran that are said to be of strength and offer protection...
They are scared of shaytan (satan) and do his work...

Well just another point of view...the world is a colourful tapestry......

True, been there done that from both sides. Pure wisdom coming form Zarah

I have been in relationships where there was no control for a phase, but it always seemed to shift either way eventually. The reasons are complicated so I am not even going to expand that.

We all do desire a relationship with perfect balance..the balance of just complimenting each other and usually in the beginning it is fresh, real and without control..But it does shift..sometimes either way back and forth...someimtes completely one sided and then I think the one losing control struggles to find that balance..they feel themselvs like a sinking ship and start bailing out water furiously..
The other side can become stifled..suffocated and afraid...after time they want to seek the door...
To find that equal balance and freely love each other without expectations and total respect..giving quality time when needed but also still reaching for your own dreams...
I see too many people living someone else dreams and this just breeds resentment and spite..
Our own journey is difficult enough...we have to learn to not pull the other along..just to walk beside them and offer our hand when needed..
Sorry SF...shite this long..carried awayrolling eyes

The one that loves the least always controls the relationship..
I think with some people it is simply they want what they cannot have.

Because, I still had things to learn. I had to learn what real love was.
Everything I wanted to give to him was given back to me. In the end I loved myself enough to set him and myself free.

I also think sometimes that we think if we say it is finally really over and move on and they change their mind we will miss our chance.
But no, you can't change anyone else and you can't control them so after you beat your head against the wall enough until you're a bloody pulp you learn to let go. It's all about learning to let go.
But I awoke and he is not what I dreamed he was and NEVER AGAIN....not with him anyway.
Everyone has some good in them but you can't deny that they have bad either when it is detrimental to you both. Unfortunately, sometimes we do use the blanket of denial, and I assume most people know why they use it.

“People are afraid of themselves, of their own reality; their feelings most of all. People talk about how great love is, but that's bullshit. Love hurts. Feelings are disturbing. People are taught that pain is evil and dangerous. How can they deal with love if they're afraid to feel? Pain is meant to wake us up. People try to hide their pain. But they're wrong. Pain is something to carry, like a radio. You feel your strength in the experience of pain. It's all in how you carry it. That's what matters. Pain is a feeling. Your feelings are a part of you. Your own reality. If you feel ashamed of them, and hide them, you're letting society destroy your reality. You should stand up for your right to feel your pain.”
~Jim Morrison

I like some of Jim Morrison's qoutes even though he was a hypocrit, he was a smart hypocrit. He didn't want to deal with his pain he numbed it with drugs.

Right on thumbs up

SF sometimes it works both ways...I did have strong feelings for someone in my past although they were not returned...I did waste a lot of time 'hoping' things would change and refused to allow myslef to move on...But he realised only too well and manipulated my feelings whilst keeping me on a string...Just when I would find a tiny bit of strength to severe the tie..he would ring with another deep and meaningful to pull me back in...

In the end I changed my number...it was the hardest thing for me to do but slowly I healed and got way over him!!!
I did think at the time it was love..but looking back now it was so disfunctional in everyway..I felt very vulnerable and rejected..I think part of it was my determination to emotionally overcome that?? Perhaps..
