Do you bite your fingernails? And if yes, did either of your parents?

Just wondering if this trait is hereditary.

eeeeeewwwwww....Nasty Grosss In a Biology class we had grow a culture in a petri dish. In one of them--we had to run a sterile file under out nail, then touch in three places to the petri dish. You would not believe the funky looking stuff that was grown. Some were worse than others. If someone who bites their nails had seen the results of those experments--they would never put their fingers near their mouths again!!!!!!!!!!barfing barfing barfing

scold NO I do not bite mine, but when they get long they always get broke then I have to trim them all the same length. But alot of people do bite their nails, some because of nerves. Does this also include toe nail biting. Yukky ! I just wonder if they go for the fingers and they get short enough do they go for the toe's. laugh laugh
But to each their own I guess.

I don't believe that this is a hereditary trait in the least ...... but is sure awful how bad it makes someone hands look. There are two ladies at work who do this and its nasty looking ..... I actually find it hard to imagine that there could be any germs under their nails because there is hardly any nail left. One of the girls gets the artifical nails applied and she gnaws on these as well.
