The greatest lesson I've learned is to accept that I cannot make things happen my own way emotionally - and that however much you love somebody, you cannot force them to love you or rekindle a love they once had for you.

It sounds weird, but learning to accept reality and 'give up hope' releases you from your own torments and then life can be good again...... but ONLY once you have 'given' up all hope and can find some inner peace.
