We, as a human race, have accomplished great things ever since man first walked on this blue and green ball called Earth. Everything from creating fire, building ships that sail from land to land, from the Rennaissance, the Idustrial Age, to the acheivements in science and aviation. Musicians and artists made great strives to acheive fame.

So my question to you is, WHAT ARE YOUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS? And it doesn't matter how big or small they are.

Geez, when you put it that way I feel like a loser.

I haven't accomplished anything of that magnitude but I do manage to get out of bed everyday, go to work for sometimes as long as 10 hours a day and then go home and watch on TV how messed up the world is.

Hello Bart,

A great thread topic. It allows us to stop and ponder. For myself, however, I do think of my accomplishments now and again, if for no other reason than to keep going every day, when sometimes I feel a bit overwhelmed, as I have much on my plate.

I have achieved everything I set out to do, though still some things undone, as they were extras I undertook, because I just want to do so many things and not enough hours in a day.

My last accomplishment was being instrumental in enabling my son to recently buy his first property at the age of 23 years. It is currently leased, but he will move in March 09. This will be a major milestone. My son will have his own wings, the umbilical cord will be cut and I must prepare for that. A brand new chapter in my life.

I am on track to achieving greater financial freedom and allow me more free time, where, hopefully within the next 6 to 12 months I need to work only one or 2 days a week, and focus on writing, and living.

Was married 38 years to a beautiful women.

Survived the Vietnam War.

Worked on the programs building the world's stealth aircraft--SR71, U-2, F-117, F-22 and F-35.

Worked 43 years without ever being fired or laid off.

Managed to golf for 45 years without ever getting good at it.

Somehow got two college degrees without learning anything.

Became an Eagle scout in the Boy Scouts.

Caught 101 trout in a two hour fishing trip in the Gulf of Mexico.

Raised a fantastic son.

Spends hours and hours each week at the local soup kitchen.

Learned to cook after my wife died.

Learned to like myself and to travel alone.
