With the current state of the economy, in a few months we'll all be cheapies.

I think that's horrible. Why spend the money renting a DVD when you can get Neflix, thus saving the time and money going to a rental store??dunno conversing doh blushing

I like a man who likes to stay at home.

I'm a home bird.

Why are they cheapies?

Do you measure a man by how much he spends on you? You won't have much luck here, it's a free dating site.

I have to say this is a HUGE turn off for me if he's just trying to IMPRESS!barf

I dislike when a man tries to impress me. He should impress me right from the word go, he did and still does, naturally.

I'm intrigued as to why Cougarwoman thinks that a man would be a cheapie if he stayed home and rented a DVD:

First date huh?

If a home only event is the first date, without first seeing a town, then certainly it is a first and last encounter, no?

Don't get me wrong, I have had dates where I proposed a picnic, where it had included all of the feed fixings, but that was never about cheap, but rather about relaxation and romance.wine

Personally, I find that kind of first date romantic and charming. Great way to get to know each other....

I prefer to stay home anc cook dinner.

You can tell alot about a man when he chops his onions.

Depends...if he's traveled a distance to see me, this is a good way to relax and get to know each other.

If he's real local, I'd meet for tea or coffee for the first date, anyway...he wouldn't be coming to my house at first. wine

I suppose if I asked you out on a first date and I took you to K-mart, I'd be a cheapie?

Actually, in my early years of dating, I did just that.
...she didn't want to miss the blue light special! laugh

I see nothing wrong with a stay home first date. Why not watch a movie SHE picks out and, make her a fabulous romantic dinner.

If we are to judge a date by the amount we spend, memorable and romantic moments may be lost due to superficial needs.

I would have no problem if the guy I was dating wanted to stay home and watch movies.I think it would be one way to get to know another.I would also consider that maybe he either drove along ways to see me or else it was on a work day.I sure wouldn't consider him being a cheapie.

We'd fix a meal together which would be so much fun and then afterwards relax with a good movie.Nothing wrong with that.

I don't think it's cheap. I think some are really just laid back, homebodies. That's fine with me.
If the man is really cheap, that's cool too. I don't mind paying all the time.
If I want to go out, I'm sure I can find a friend who will go hang out.
It's all goooood.grin

"I don't see where a guy can go wrong by wanting
to rent a DVD and stay home.Furthermore,I just
don't find it to be acceptable to call a guy
a "cheapie";makes no sense to me.I love nothing
but to spend quality time with the one I love,
to cuddle,up close and personal while watching
a flick.I find it to be quite romantic actually."

I see nothing wrong with staying home on a first date if you know the guy well enough to be alone with him on the first date.

As for cheapie...thats ridiculous. With the economy the way it is, I always offer to go dutch if we are going somewhere 'big'.
(usually they say no)

I wouldn't want someone that I'd been chatting on the net with to come to my house the first time.

grin
