ladyfingers: I see nothing wrong with staying home on a first date if you know the guy well enough to be alone with him on the first date.

I wouldn't want someone that I'd been chatting on the net with to come to my house the first time.

My last date the man cooked dinner for us here at my place, he had a hour drive to get here. But he brought my favorites, Venison and deep fried mushrooms and I provided the baked potatoes. It was pretty nice and laid back. I like simple, I don't mind dates like that.

He was not getting much business lately cause of the economy and no one building homes or getting much repairs done. So I totally understood not eating out and a movie. I wouldn't have passed up that chance to get to know him. I just wished it had worked out for us. Oh well.

I'm surprised and gratified by how many people find the idea of a stay-at-home date appealing. I certainly do. Vastly more intimate and relaxing - a great way to get to know each other without the noisy people at a restaurant or the flashers at a porno-flick.
