I like it. Don't ask me details because I don't pay attention to music these days. Soooo strange. But I do feel good going to an opera concert, listening/watching on TV.

Puccini's music and operas are divinely inspired. Richard Strauss's Rosen Kavalier has also always been one of my favourites..

I love Opera, almost all, exception to Wagner. I don't like Wagner.

I love Verdi, Pucini, etc, etc, and Opera rock. I love Gershwin: Porgy and Bess...I have a small collection of CDs.

As now I am a "country girl" I watch Opera on TV (Meezo)

Fantistic! We have opera lovers here!

I am more for the Germans: Mozart (Cosi fan Tutte), Wagner (Tristan e Isolde), Strauss (Electra).

The problem is that I am nowhere near an opera house (I live in Mexico). Any suggestions other than flying to the states?

I was taught at college and read in Grove that they were the same thing. Are they all wrong?

Mosart, Bethoven, Wagner and others wrote both classical and opera. They are not the same, but the same authors.
