Recently I had a short discussion with a lady friend. I frequently joke around that I am looking for my "next EX wife"..

Said lady has been married more than once, I have been married more times than she has.sigh Hell, I even married one, 3 times.frustrated I fully realize the common denominator in EVERY RELATIONSHIP I have ever had is ME!!!uh oh

This lady stated she is looking for a "keeper".smitten

My question to everyone that has been previously married and divorced is this..conversing AT THE TIME WE GOT MARRIED, DID WE NOT THINK THEY WERE KEEPERS??confused

yes still a keeper, but things change with time. some circumstances and situation may change everything bouquet

HJ I have no experience on this subject. I was only married once and it lasted 38 years before she died. The next one will be the last one. She will be a keeper. I am hard to get rid of once my heart commits.

Pat I guess I could say that I thought of my late husband to be a 'keeper' and was married to him up until he passed on. If I'm ever lucky enough to enter into another relationship someday that new man who enters my life will be a keeper as well.

I think that we all (or should) think that that person is a "keeper"..if I had gone down that aisle thinking that he wasnt, then I would have been stupid.

Unfortunately, he wasnt, but there is no bitterness and that is just life.

I loved him with all my heart, never thought he would hurt me and trusted him completely. It still didnt work.

So, in consequence, I keep my mind open, and will grab happiness when I can and appreciate it one day at a time..

Perhaps the expectations of "Forever" weigh too heavily on some people..that is why I would rather just go with "Today"..
