On a serious note have you ever met a real life poseur? Did u know a surprising number of them exist. I can understand it on the internet, people just having fun and not intending any malice or harm. To each his own. But this is very strange and freaky.

There was an article in a major newspaper about people pretending to be rich, filling out legal documents,etc. just to pretend they were buying expensive homes in the area.

Apparently there are a lot of freaks in the world that like to live in fantasy worlds of their creation. While they may harm other people they are not usually con artists or scammers trying to make money. Nor in most cases are they dealing with classic mental health issues. They are aware of reality and not delusional.
