A God fearing man was stranded on a desert island. Although he was hungry and in desperate need of fresh water, he fell to his knees every day and shouted; "The Lord will save me!"
One day, a man in a yacht sailed by and spotted the man. "Would you like a lift to the mainland?" he asked. "No, but thanks anyway", the stranded man said. "The Lord will save me!"

The next day, the coast guard came by and saw the man laying on the shore of the island. "Do you need some help?", the captain asks.
"No, I'm fine, but thanks for the offer", the man said. "The Lord will save me!"

Another day passes and the man saw a fishing boat off in the distance. The captain of the vessel shouts; "Hey you! Are you ok? Do you need a hand?" The man could barely speak as his throat was so dry, but he managed to squeak; "No, no, that's okay, the Lord will save me!"

Within the next few days the man dies of hunger, thirst and disease. He meets his maker at the pearly gates and says; "I don't understand. I put all my faith in you that you would save me from that terrible island, but instead, you left me there to die!"

With that, the Lord replies in a booming voice; "Hey man, what do you want from me? I sent you three ships already!"


All parables have morals. What's yours on this take?

Very interesting, yes. I am not religious by any means but, I confess, I DO believe that some things/people/events are sent our way at specific times for a purpose. I have found that time and again throughout my life. The purpose may not be recognised at THAT time but it transpires the route we then take or how it effects events thereafter is a turning point in one's life.....

Believe me.... something happens and someone enters our life for a reason. The key is to take something or learn something from it?
