In the UK we don't idolise people so much and we have a very cruel sense of humour.

A kid told me a joke yesterday.

Apparently an undertaker wants to melt Michael Jackson down and make plastic toys out of the resultant 'gunge' - then kids can play with him rather than vice versa.

Sick humour - yes.

Funny.................... not really.

Should we make fun of the dead?

Why not? dunno

I was getting the jokes before I had even seen he was dead.

Most public figures are not as great as they are presented upon death. They take a dump like the rest of us. I'd include MJ in that mix.

Very few have I idolized. I do feel for his family members.
With that said, some of the jokes going around are funny.

Very sensible Indy. Don't blame it on the sunshine, don't blame it on the moonlight. Let's blame it on the boogie.

No disrepect to Michael Jackson as I totally admired him and he made my late twenties and early thirties with his music and theatrics....applause applause

"What did Michael Jackson say to the Doctor that was treating him by his bedside the other night"

These kind of jokes always appear regardless of
the victim(s) involved.
Jokes like these appeared just a couple of days
after the death of Princess Di, and 9/11 for that
matter.

Its up to the individual to decide where to draw
the line I guess.

Is dying a tragedy or just a fact of life? Everyone is going to die whether you like it or not.

People are saddened by death out of pure selfishness. Death is just the next step in life.

No, i find it to be cruel, making fun of dead people. Let them rest in peace. if we wanted to make fun/jokes beter do it when they are still alive. just my thoughts

But what is they die before you finish telling all your jokes?

It is a fact of life that all will die. Most just become dust and are never remembered. Some people want to be remembered in any way possible or they would crave the spotlight.
