jvaski: So, I could put an apple in your hand and you wouldn't agree it was tangible ?

galaxy15: So in effect you are intimating that there may be a scale of tangibility, where some 'things' are more tangible than others?

Absolutely not, things are either tangible or they're not ......

mnowsa: in other words, not believing in a GOD is also a "belief" itself

Wot do you reckon?
Whatever you believe is true for you and anyone who agrees with you...

"Discernible by the touch" Has anyone ever not put their hand out the window of a car and not felt the wind pushing it back ?

Granted...
But it is 2nd hand tangibility. While you are standing still, on a clear day, with no wind - air does not presson us - an outside force needs to promt it to action.

i think the whold idea of "truth" can be little deceptive. you can believe in anything/something that may or may not be true. the believing part is very easy comparative to the "true" part. so i think, we should be little more careful about calling something true or not true.

galaxy15: 'I'm an individual - just like evrybody else!'

Yes, and as an individual you have the right not to have anyone impose their beliefs on you - with exception of govenment and rules of society which you choose to live in ........

here-in is the problem where goverment has religion and god the creator interwoven into law and government

the problem is alot of people believe that the believing and true are the same and fight to have everyone else believe the same

The original thread question is a concept,
air as being tangible is a proven scientific and sociably acceptable fact

I'm saddened to hear that your idea of truth is deceptive.
Whatever 'you' believe is true!
So why not believe something worthwhile?

The universe will configure itself into any form you want it to.

Scientific - at our current standard of measurements
Proven - still not by the standard offered
There is no such thing as a socially accepted fact. This, is called a belief.
