Sunset on the Nebraska prairie

This was the view to the west tonight off of my back deck.
When I was in Denver a year and a half ago for 30 days while my son was fighting for his life in the hospital, I never saw a single sunrise or a single sunset. While I was there I decided to build a new home here on the prairie.. the only thing I KNEW I wanted in a home was a deck on the back and a porch on the front so I could see the sunrises and sunsets whenever I wanted to...
THIS is what I missed and hope to never miss again! Just wanted to share it with you all.

Absolutely...and that is one beautiful sunset, NWF. Thank you for sharing. I love to sit outside and watch the sunsets. (I try not to be awake for the sunrises.

I have never lived in Denver.....but, I have seen far better sunrise's and sunset's here in the rockies then I EVER SAW IN IOWA!! Do you live under those high power lines??

Just to the east of those powerlines!
The reason I didn't see a single sunrise or sunset in Denver is because I was in a hospital the entire time in downtown Denver, surrounded by buildings too tall to see what was behind them, or even coming over them most of the time. I've seen some absolutely gorgeous Rocky Mountain sunrises and sunsets!!

Great picture. I loved it. I take pictures of sun rises and sunsets all the time. I find them peaceful and bring back wonderful memories of my trips. Two of my favorite are: a sunset at Key West Florida with a sailboat going by as the sun set. The other one was taken across the Mississippi River. I have the sun rise and sunset on the same day at the same place. I loved that location at Memphis.

What makes this picture amazing is your looking at the heart of a thermo nuclear explosion. Lucky for us it's 93 million miles away or we'd be toast.

I'd love to see your sun photos too! I love them. Like you, they are serene for me... and sometimes can take you places that you might otherwise forget!
