I was drifting through the forums because I can't sleep. I do this quite often when I am feeling a little lonely. Anyway, I noticed something that disturbs me. Quite a few of the threads had comments about "fat" people. Now as you can all tell from my pictures, I am not slender. I am not overly obese either. I like to believe that I am fluffy not fat. laugh
My point is the whole fat comment thing made me feel a little uneasy. Are people looking at my picture and thinking she is a gluttonous whale? Looking at her makes me puke?
Sigh, I hate having self-esteem issues but I have struggled with my weight my whole life.
So, I welcome comments about what is up with the whole fat woman issue.

If you consume 14 tonnes of krill a day, you are a gluttonous whale

OMG! I am so glad you brought that up...I had been feeling the same way. Some of the comments were pretty harsh!! Someone made a comment that if they only show a face shot...they are probably a fat pig. Well, I never really considered myself a fat pig..but I guess some might. I am not overly obese either and i like to think that I have the right stuff in the right places.. I consider myself voluptuous with some extra pounds. But I have notice ALOT of men only prefer slender women. I think they are missing out on some great women. I wouldn't mind some reassurance either that there are men out there that find "our kind" attractive other than repulsive.dunno

Great Post!thumbs up

Usually that is my attitude. Thanks for sharing your Polar. It helps to know I am not the only one who feels this way.

If you can't move on your own without the help of a crane. Then yes, that's a whale.
Or if you're at the beach and people keep trying to push you in the water, then that's a whale.

You are not.
You are not obese, fat whatever. You look fine to me.
Keep in mind that alot of what is out there for people to see, are what the media feeds us these days.

I have lots of close friends who are on the fluffier side.. but it doesnt affect their personality or thier brain or the way people love them... because those people who comment bad things on "fat" people doesnt really care and also (forgive me if i say) a little intolerant. But i also would say try to those who are overly obese ... try and be healthy... it helps a lot.. and its very practical for obvious reasons

If I were thinner I would have a sallow face.

I'm by no means thin and svelte. And I'm glad about that. I would like to be fitter, but not necessarily skinny.
What nakedmudpeople said. I'd have no boobs. LOL.

You're a blues fan. Remember the old song "I am built for comfort, not for speed"?

That's not a bad thing by any measure. You've got a nice smile and seem like a good person.

Years ago a rather rude older woman who barely knew me told me I should have a defect fixed "so I could find a good woman". I told her the defect would not make any difference to a good woman and that anyone it did bother I would not have any use for.

Likewise any man who would pass you by because you are not a walking toothpick is the one losing out.

Don't let them get you down girl! A little self esteem goes a long way in life. It's important to take care of yourself, and it's important to find balance. You do eventually learn to make peace with your body and with who you are, and the rest kind of falls into place. If you can't ever come to terms with your body, then it may always be an obstacle for you and if it's an obstacle for YOU, then it will be an obstacle for anyone who might love you... bouquet
