Sexual gratification is a basic instinct & need of the human animal. To deprive ones self of sex is self abuse, pure and simple.

Anyone doubting this should give serious consideration of seeking therapy.

i have had numerous "one night stands" in the past and i can truthfully say that my self esteem was lowered with each one. i got to the point where i thought of myself as nothing more than a no-good slut and that since thats what i was, why NOT sleep with every guy who approaches me? i was known as just a mere booty call for quite a few guys. it actually took, surprisingly, a good guy coming into my life and wanting me for more than just sex to get me out of that mentality. he loved me for more than just what pleasure i could bring him.

I don't think that a person who has a one night stand necessarily has little self respect. A woman who is in a relationship long term can have little self respect, I saw one the other night that believes she has bags of the stuff, but in fact she has very little and she has been with the same guy for seven years. If a woman wants one night stands, then why does she have to little respect for herself? Frankly, if she does not want a long term relationship then one night stands are perfect for her. I see absolutely nothing wrong with that at all.

I've had my fair share of one nighters as a youngster and what they did was teach me about myself, in no way did I feel as though I was disrespected or in any way felt less about myself. Sex is a beautiful thing between two consenting adults, be it two people who want to have one night together or two people who want to spend night after night together. Attaching sex to respect is an antiquated way of addressing something that happens all the time and can be enjoyable in everyway.

Personally I don't think you are disrespecting yourself by simply choosing to have sex with someone without commitment - ie one night stands. I think disrespecting yourself only comes from doing something you don't really want to because you're under pressure - thats where you let yourself down. So even if a person is really drunk but just plain horney and wants some fun then go for it and I won't look on you any the worse at all. But if you do it just to make someone else happy and not because you really want to in any circumstance then you're letting yourself down and disrespecting your psyche/spirit.

They say that a Woman knows if they will have Sex with a Man shortly after meeting them. Women are quite intuitive AND feel that 'Itch' too. If you're Physically attracted and believe the person (Male or Female) is disease-free (ALWAYS USE PROTECTION, REGARDLESS) and not as "Shallow as a Paperplate", Go for it ! Drunk encounters 'Often' become Bad encounters. Beside, Who wants to DULL the experience ?

If a person uses a succession of one night stands in the hope of securing a relationship then they are only going to run into problems.
