I never liked the guy or his music but I have been bombarded by stuff around him lately...so Well, I read a bit about his life and came across his relationship with dad, how savage that man was and how many scars he left in this poor guy that never found peace in this world. Anyway, without trying to get into clichés of compassion I would like to know from people with better knowledge on this subject, how much Jackson´s life has been influenced by his father´s savagery. It would be interesting to think of that, interesting for all of us, hopeless happiness-seekers.
Thanks for any kind contribution.

MJ was fragile;
His other brothers and sisters also had ressentiments toward their father;
He grew up in the 60's, where everybody was fighting for freedom and all kinds of oppression and he had to swallow his dictator father, work, work;
His father used to abuse him verbally and phisically. Called him ugly many times.
He just felt it more than the others.

It´s true. I render my homage to him then, as another suffering creature in this world. sad flower

Yes, probably. I went through a few of them rapidly but I do not like to read people saying they are sad because he was the "king of pop"...I find it plastic...anyway, thanks for reply. hug

Preparing their wot????? Evening Mrs.

Antjo, I believe that his father had a massive influence on MJ and that has led to alot of his behaviour over the years. I am not au fait with the whole story, but I do know that the father was a massive influence on him. Those sort of things spill over generation after generation and there was no blockade in stopping the continuation of the influences. I don't think he was the King of Pop, but he was a genius musically and certainly was the face that introduced the world to MTV and he will always be remembered for his contribution to music.

Don't you laugh too much in this thread. We are in a thread about a person who is recently deceased.

Ah, but then I am a bit hard when it comes to that Antjo. Because I believe in the end we are all truly responsible for our own actions. My mother is a paranoid psychophrenic and has been for as long as I can remember, yet all my own screw ups have been entirely of my own doing. Nothing to do with her. I think the human race is screwed up anyway. History cements that for me.

In some cultures like the one in the Andean Mountains, death is welcome with mirth, That way, the souls can go without extra burden about any terrenal mourning . There´s no need to be so sad then..cheers

Now this I like, my granny taught me never to be sad at someone's passing, saying that I should never miss them as they never leave us... I cannot and will not subscribe to this myth that we all have to be sombre and sad at the passing of one, especially that of a celebrity that I have no emotional bond with. Tell me more Antjo.

Yes, it is right you´re hard as people need to change things and do not get stagnant in self-pity and the past facts. Scars can be healed soemhow, or at least, our constant struggle to delete them can bring us something beyond what we got in our early life, particularly from terrible parents.

Oh good, now I want to howl and I am not being disrespectful to MJ, at all. He was brilliant and in some respects, Cris, I think he is better off where he is and being remembered as a musical genius. There that is my thought!
