It's hard to name a few, there are so many...I love art and various forms of art, not just paintings.

** Most of Picasso's Blue Period
**I'm a huge fan of folk art - can't even name a fav here...
**Photography is by far my favorite - 2 of my fav photographers are Dorothy Sebastian, her photos are brilliant and Helen Levitt because she captures simple things but the photos speak volumes.
**I love colored, blown glass. I would like to find a place where I could make something with glass.
** Pottery is cool, we have a shop here locally where you can paint your own piece. It would be fun if I could actually mold something as well.

jetdevil2001: Gernica by Picasso. It clearly shows whole horror of WWII, I grew cold with terror, when I saw it fow the fisrt time...

I'm not necesarily a fan of picasso(i just dont realy understand him) but the storie behind that painting is horific and painted well by picasso.

LethalLove: Klimt- The Kiss.

beautiful...golden glowing light...the tenderness with which the man holds his love's face as he bends down to kiss her.

Her serene face lifted to him, her eyes closed...their bodies woven together.

A beautiful piece of work.

I like his work but it is damn difficult to pronounce his name. I love Magrites but it was several years before i could pronounce his name corectly. Why can't the artist just be naned somthing simple like bob or fred?

Dennis good to see you around the forums again.bouquet
My favorite piece of art is:
The female human body! Truly a work of art! And you ask, why? Just look for yourself, and you'll see why! professor

We may not get along with all/every female, but they still behold the most exquisite/beautiful piece of art! Themselves! grin

JMO cheers

I really love- botticelli's 'birth of venus'

But reubens 'the head of john the baptist', 'rape of leviticus' daughters' and his 'head of medusa' are amazingly graphic and profound.

Dali's 'mae west' as amazing for its 3D visuality
Oh and woods 'american gothic' is amazing for its stoicism and morbid humorwine

I love the "Impressionist" period and adore anything by most of the struggling artists from this period.

Monet,s "Gardens at Giverny" springs to mind for the delicate colours.
My all time favourite has to be Renoir's "Luncheon of the boating party " It's sheer size is amazing, the colors and attention to detail.Especially likeable because it's a true representation of life in those days,as all his friends and his lover were in the picture.
