I agree he is invested in that at least theoretically. I think he needs to continue to focus on spending, civil liberties, ending the war, education, healthcare, ...lots really..., corporate corruption pulling the strings of our legislators, and he should finally quit smoking once and for all. Horrible industry to support. He has heart though. I can tell he's a thinker even if he gets a little bogged down in politics.

gwright025: I couldnt agree more with you, he is extremely white washed. However if you ask many other afican americans they consider it a major accomplishment for a black man to be a sitting president.
So I guess his race being a political milestone is questionable as well as opinionated.

Does affirmative action need to be abolished? If a poor black man can become president, shouldn't all have the same ability?

Zeelander: What has he done for your state with the stimulus bill?

well he has help rebuild the infastruture in nh... up north that bill is building new bridges and dams... in the cental part of my state it is rebuilding our highway system..in the southern part of our state it is building and repairing many roads and bridges that were washed out in the floods from the past 3 years.
it has also saved 20,000 state jobs and has created 30,000 new constuction jobs in our state to the point were unemployment has dropped dramatically and I personally was able to work again... and with 3 children being a single mother work is always a good thing...

I take it you don't smoke? To a smoker (which is still legal) in some cases it is like air to you and me..... should you stop breathing?

NH is the only state where unemployment has dropped then. Maybe we should all move there.

also, state jobs don't produce revenue, just cost tax dollars.
bosmike: The HUGE problem that Obama and the Left doesn't understand is that you don't panic and spend like an idiot, to "fix" the financial fallout--especially when in human history has it NEVER WORKED FROM WITHIN A SPECIFIC COUNTRY. (The most glaring example is Japan spending like mad during the DECADE of the 90s to try and "fix" their severe economic crisis, only to realize it didn't work...again.)

EXCUUUUUUUUUUSE Me!!! Bush pushed forth the first bail out plan b4 he left office. so IMO the Shoe is on BOTH feet!!!!!!!!

Zeelander: It has been 2 hours and no one has come up with one accomplishment?

come on, he has had to do at least one thing right.

Gov't employment continues to be the only segment of the economy that is consistantly adding jobs. Too bad it adds nothing to the real GDP.cheers

Where have I said Bush was a good fiscal conservative, or didn't deserve blame?? LOOK AT THE TITLE; it's about OBAMA--not Bush.

Good point. Yet the implication is that it was Obama alone. I felt the need to correct that.bouquet bouquet

excuse me do you even know what you are talking about half the time... people give you things he has done and being a miserable cynic, or maybe devil's advocate, you automatically rebuff what is said... state jobs do bring revenue, any job does... the people that work for state need to pay to live in the state and they pay for stuff too... maybe you should move to new hampshire... you might have a better outlook on life if you were actually happy with your life... you asked a simple question..and I gave my opinion... backed with facts.. if you don't like it then don't start threads like this... look online or watch the news. things are slowly getting better.. It took us time to get into this mess and it will take time to get out of this..
