Kattsrose: Why do people get so angry and hateful over simple disagreements on here?

Do they act the same in the real world?

I don't think it's because of disagreements.
It's just who they{some people} are. They thrive on "disagreements", hence if there is none they would create some.

Most definitely, IMO.

I mean, whenever they feel they can get away with it...

Mainly on political and faith threads.

In my experience, yes people certainly can when those topics come up. That's why they're two of the three topics one should never discuss in public. People get very passionate in their beliefs on these subjects, and feel so strongly that they're right that they try to change the minds of others who believe differently. Which is why I try very hard not to discuss those subjects...here or in person. wine

Why do people think that simply because you "fight" a corner, discuss a topic, hold on to a belief, or ask questions, there is hate or anger involved?

I was thinking more of when it is reduced to name calling and accusations. The "YOU PEOPLE ALL THINK" type of post.

There was a thread a few days ago making fun of a video of a service in a Pentecostal church. That isn't defending ones position. That is just being mean spirited.

From what I have seen of your posts and threads you seem to like to play nice and for everyone to have fun. It would be nice if everyone felt that way.

get it, people need to not have tools of violence around them and not allow it to fester within them until it erupts. That can be dangerous and difficult to recover from even if not typical behavior. Certain mistakes only need to be done once to do you in very mad beer mumbling drinking

OK I looked it up, a song by Madonna. It is older than me and my parents are into folk music. Sounds nice.

K. D. Lang singing Cole Porter is more my style.

To each their own, I know a 70 year old Scotsman that is a big George Clinton fan.
