When the japanese flew into Hawaii for their attack on Pearl Harbor their planes were actually seen on a radar screen some time before they actually began shooting and dropping bombs. However, the military guy on duty that day in charge of watching the monitor did not believe his eyes, did not sound the alarm, and failed to report the blips on the radar screen. The military guy said later when asked that he never could believe an attack would occur and reasoned that the blips on the monitor/screen were seagulls. If he would have did what he was taught to do, followed procedure, sounded the alarm, or at the very least gotten a second opinion, many less lives would have been lost and less destruction of equipment would have occurred.
When does destruction come in a similar form as what looks like seagulls on a monitor/screen?
