fobrien: i only go by my own country when i speak of law,divorce is now a new thing(when once people stayed together for life happy or not)and let us not forget a priest in church or on the beach,or else where is still the church(a church that believes that ,people in ireland or catholic countries should die of aids)rather than wear a condom,and be safe and not have unwanted children,and be happy or healthy.i have my catholic faith but also my intelect(it would seem the church does not want people to have both)who knows.

Oops... Forgot this is an international Forum... Ok... I was going by the standards of my country... USA...

The woman who presided over the wedding on the beach was a clerk of the court not a priest...

How can the church prevent someone from wearing a condom???

Not a bloody hope in hell...our laws are so twisted now that you have to pay settlement/property/alimony costs for when you split up with your mistress...so marriage is irrelevant, and redundant.

My personal views are that marriage is a patriarchal out dated farce....and the divorce rates show that.

I have not read what everyone said, but I think marriage is important. It shows a great deal of commitment. If (you/she/he) is not totally commited, then you/she/he just don't want to stick around and work it out, you know? In "living together, you get to know eachother much better. Live together for at least 1 yr. and if you're compatible in every way and decide you need a paper to confirm it, then do it but I've found that I don't need a license to stay in love.
