OMG!!! I just barely joined this site. Still finding all the settings, and how things are done here, and my IM box keeps opening up. First a guy 1/2 my age. Yeah right. I wonder what he wanted. Then a man from Saudi Arabia who couldn't take a hint when I didn't reply. Had to block him. So the third guy (as I am franticly trying to find how to disable IMs) says hi or whatever. I politley tell him "I am not interested in IMing with strangers. Sorry." So he proceeds to call be terrible names, and tell me what my future will be, and so on. I pressed Block, then closed, but somehow he kept getting back to me. Kept blocking and closing. Wow! What a jerk he was.

Anyway, thank goodness I figured out how to disable IMs. Honestly folks. I don't know how you do them. I always get the jerks and the pervs.

Not a good start on here...doh

women do get that sort of attention but sometimes if the right person is on it can be very good and flirtatious and there is nothing wrong with that
but women don,t do it to me damit lol!

We have all had that.......dont worry...just turn IM off, if there´s one you like you can turn it back on.....


Your not the only one that gets Jerks...believe me.....But its all in the game....have Fun...teddybear

They can be annoying especially as you dont who is behind them when they drop down.

You did the right thing but on the other side i tried it with someone recently and we are meeting up, so they cant be all bad

We are not all Jerks there are some Gentlemen about conversing

I'm quite certain there must be gentlemen around, or I would not be here looking. I'm just not willing to have 30 bad IMs a night, in the hopes that maybe one day it will be a gentleman. Hopefully said gentleman would be willing to send an Email. They still work fine, and are a lot less time consuming.

As Roxaan said you can turn it off, if someone mails you or you check your IM's and you want to talk to someone turn it back on, thats what many of us do wave

Yes, I've got them off now. I just joined (earlier) and was suddenly bombarded before I had a chance. Then some guy older than me was acting worse than my teenage son. Anyway, Emails are my prefered method. I've seen too many Dr. Jeckle & Mr. Hyde's in IMs for one life time! LOL
