manofthehour: I have met a woman that is living in Russia and she is very keen to come to Australia to meet me. She has bought a passport and now she is saying that she needs me to send her money so she can buy a visa, dose this sound like a scam or am I just being silly?? I cannot help the feeling that she is just using me to get into Australia.

SCAM: Now she asked for visa fee, next she will ask for money to buy her flight ticket and later her mother or father will be sick. Maybe then you have to send more money until you give up.

The internet is not magic. Odds are if you can't meet women offline, you can't meet them online. Often this is a case of not really trying. Maybe, try harder.

Sending you a copy of the passport means nothing unless you can check out the validity of it and chances are you can't and won't. True? Yeees.

Do NOT send money. If you're really nutz about her, use that money to fly to see her. If you send it, you'll run a great risk of never seing her or your money again. Save yourself an expensive learning lesson.
