I was just told that a friend that I have known for maybe 15 years died today. He was allergic to bees and was stung ,got in his car to go to the hospital and never made it out of the driveway crashed into his mother's house. He was 41 and ran the local bikers bar that I go to every so offend for a beer ,the bar is just down the block walking distance of 5 minutes maybe. Not sure why I am tell you all this ....just wanted to I guess

Sorry to hear about your friend. My mother and cousin have those little epi pens that they carry,,,just in case of a sting.

hug comfort hug bouquet I'm sorry about your friend, Jess. I'm allergic to bee stings to, but luckily my reaction gives me more time. It's not anaphylactic, but cellutic. An Epi Pen could have saved his life.

Maybe he didn't know that he was allergic to stings. You never know until the first time....which in his case was too late.

Oh my goodness.

For all deadly allergic, you need to get a vile of meds and keep it on hand to deal with this--then rush to ER.

For those mildly allergic, talk with your Doctor. For me...well I am allergic and it swells up pretty good. I use either "meat tenderizer" in the shaker or a paste of baking soda and water to draw out the poision and get to the doctor quick!

I am so sorry for your loss, my friend. Thanks for telling your story so we can all be aware. K

I just don't understand why someone would not have that thing you people are speaking of .....you would think it would have been in his pocket or something....he has been stung before and almost died the last time
