mddljoe: i suppose that when i look at a couple in the end of their days on earth..

and they seem to know and answer one another's
questions and needs without speaking...
holding hands...
working together.. overcoming obstacles..
sharing memories.. enjoying grandchildren
and great grandchildren...
passing on the wisdom earned in a lifetime.

i see the great importance
of two becoming one...

i do not know if i will ever find that...

it is however a treasure worth seeking...

good things!!
You can do all of those things without being married

Sommerauer71: See, I'm like that too, although I have no overwhelming desire to walk down the aisle, I would eventually want to get married again.

My personal beliefs, my faith, the way I want to be viewed to family and friends, and the way I present myself to my son is very important to me. Plus it makes it a little more simple when it comes to legal matters, wills, trust, estates, and dealing with the government for benefits.

While I continue to put the fear of god up Captain, I have to agree with you...

In marriage I will share everything talk about everything and love only my wife... I've never been married cause I have not find the right woman that I will spend the rest of my life with... Of course I will only get married once in my liftime...

But about marriage making a relationship better than say cohabitation... Not really...

The only difference is...

In a marriage the commitment is enforced by law so the two can't just walk away from each other without meeting obligations...

In cohabitation the commitment is not enforced by law so the two can just walk away from each other the without meeting obligations...

I think it goes something like that... Or does it???

Most everybody here knows me as an open minded person, but shacking up. Will never be part of my plan as far as living with a man. To me it is putting what I really want on hold, and well... I would want to be married.

Besides... I read somewhere that the marriage bed could not be defiled.

I think marriage is a beautiful thing, and a way of showing the other person how much he or she means. For me it's importent in so many ways but i will just do it once.. so far i haven't met that person yet that made me wanna go the whole way. I would actually want to call somebody my husband. That would be nice..angel
